Okay, here is my entry for favorite video -- although I am like Adam -- I really don't have favorites. However, the first time so many of us saw Adam live was on the American Idol tour. I saw him in Seattle and the crowd went crazy when the lights started to flash for his set. It was an experience I will never forget, and I was 11 rows back in the center (yay) taking it all in. I tried to find a good video from Tacoma, but I think this one is representative of what we all saw back then. From the moment he stepped on stage it was electric, and he's only gotten more amazing since then. I re-watch this video often because it was a seminal moment in Adam's career and in the fandom as well.

discussion about his look reminds me of a comment I read somewhere written by a man about Adam "he is too beautiful to be a man, but he is a handsome man" It seems like there was a Russian Queen fan last summer who described Adam as a cross between Rambo and Elizabeth Taylor. LOVED IT. That's a wonderful comparison! He can be very masculine and very pretty at the same time. It's no wonder he unsettles so many people. I completely get him -- he actually reminds me of some of my college friends, and I would love to sit and have a conversation with him (a musician and spirituality talk -- since I am both a musician and a pastor). BTW, I thought the FYE cover was a hoot, but then I understood what Adam was going for -- and I can understand why some others hated it. I remember looking at the FYE cover and thinking "Duran Duran!!!).

I have Google TV which has similar features, although I have not compared it with Apple TV. Also, just about any DVD or Blu-Ray player or AV receiver which is advertised as "internet ready" or having wifi capabilities can also play YouTubes. I've watched YouTubes with the features on my Sony Blu-ray player although I find it frustrating because the search feature is limited in the number of characters it will take. So, I find myself mostly hooking my laptop to my TV using a 25' HDMI cable so that I have full and easy control over YouTube videos. I also do this for watching live streams and even video files played through Windows Media Player. You can also use game devices (Wii, XBox, etc) to move web to TV screen. I got a new Blu-ray player for Christmas -- my parents asked why I wanted another DVD player, and I replied "wifi"! One of the first things I did was hook it up to my internet and watch a bunch of Adam videos on my big TV -- YAY!!!

Seoulmate -- for you (and anyone else's) edification, I post the following (you know, in the public interest, ahem): Men's Dance Belt (used by all kinds of dancers while performing--I had a boyfriend once who was a dancer, and he wore these--much more comfy for performing than standard undies. This one is pretty conservative, but they are a men's thong. I just thought it was a good...em...example *coughs*) It never felt better being educated! ;D [/IMG]
I'm glad I could be of assistance!

I thought this was very interesting, considering how Adam said he didn't apply to Idol any earlier in his career because he wasn't ready. Here is confirmation for that point-of-view from another Idol alum, Katherine McPhee (now on the TV show Smash)
TVGuideMagazine @tvguidemagazine McPhee says anyone going for #Idol should "know who you are as a musician." Admits she wasn't ready for that during her run. #tca13

Liberace was such a great performer. He was performing at the first casino show I ever attended when I was just a kid. When I would visit my aunt and uncle in Reno they would take us to a show. We would get all dressed up (my aunt would buy me a new dress) and I would watch my uncle tip the maitre'd so we would get a great table. I felt so sophisticated in the elaborate showroom, elegant dining and then the show. What great memories! A friend of mine confided to me that Adam reminded her of Liberace. Haha. It is sad that tptb don't think America would love to see a well produced movie about one of its great entertainers. Or that others think a story about Liberace is too gay for the masses. What a lovely story and memory! Thank you so much for sharing it. My sister and I went to the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas (worth the trip if you are there) and saw lots of his amazing costumes and other cool stuff (including a couple of cars and his crystal covered piano). My sister the clothing designer was practically crawling over to see how his costumes were made--very funny! He was an amazing performer and also a classically trained musician (sound familiar?) who became a popular icon. Love him! And yes, unless you were blind, it was really obvious he was gay. :

addicted -- awwww...thank you! I graduated from seminary (master's program to become a pastor) in 1993, so it's been almost 20 years since I have been in school! Yikes, I feel old -- but determined! And when I'm done I can do therapy for all the addicted Glamberts! Chapf even made me my own "sign":

Q3 -- Thanks for your lovely post about your future and resolutions. I have also made some changes in the past year and am moving forward with more. Being a fan of Adam actually helped me get to this point, by realizing that yes I COULD go back to school at my age and get another Master's degree to further myself in my profession. If you had told me a year ago that I would be back in school by December, I would have laughed at you. However, I took a risk and decided to change directions. Why not? Adam has helped me to think about and follow my passion more fully, which is a good thing.
I am also planning on working on my physical and spiritual life in some new ways this year as well -- it will be another adventure, and I look forward to where I will be next year at this time!
One thing that Oprah said during a graduation speech she did one time (women's college, don't remember where) really struck me -- she told them that (women especially) need to dream bigger and greater because we are only limited by our minds. She said that our problem is not that our dreams and goals are too big, but that they are not big enough. We limit ourselves, and we need to dream bigger. I loved this then, and it''s always been interesting to me how much Adam espouses the same thinking.
