Ugh! If Chicago Kiss 105.3 doesn't lean rythmic then I just have really, really bad luck. During tonights hellatious commute (there's about 4-5 inches of snow out there) I was channel flipping. I kept trying to listen to Kiss, but here are the songs I hit each time I flipped there: Flo Rida - Feeling Good (The Etta James parts are great, but I hate the rap stuff) Nicki Minaj - not sure of the title - Super Bass maybe? Enrique Inglesias with some rapper - Tonight Rhianna - We found love (possibly the dumbest song ever) Pitbul/Ne-Yo and some others - no clue what the title is LMFAO - Party Rocking? Just as I got home, Cee Lo Green's Forget you came on. - definitely the best of the batch. Why does CHicago radio suck so badly? Tastes differ? I like "Good Feeling", "Super Bass" (though I'm reaching saturation), "Tonight", love "We Found Love", I'm tired of "Give Me Everything" (Kodak's are so anachronistic), and I still groove to "Forget You" and "Party Rock Anthem" since for me I was over-saturated and then the airplay cut back so I like them again. :D

Re expectations for "Trespassing" - my view - 8-) Why dream if you can't dream BIG. With dreams, the sky's the limit. That's what dreaming is all about. What good is it to dream small or just mediocre. If the dream meets or exceeds the wishes, how glorious that is. If the fulfillment falls a bit short, at least the aim was high. and those are my words of wisdom for today. haha - ;D I believe in projecting and manifesting in creating and visualizing great intentions for your life and the universe, in inviting in abundance (insert your favorite spiritual metaphor or Oprah quote here, lol) but also the flip side of that is letting go completely of expectations and attachment to the results. Often wishes become hopes become expectations become disappointment/angst (at least that's how i've seen it play out in fandom sometimes). As long I remember that when I offer a wish to the universe for something, the next step is to let it go so the universe can receive it, saal gooood. /navel gazing

Reading through the rest of yesterday's thread and today's thread and I keep seeing references to the fact that this album will be or may be as big or bigger then Adele or Katy Perry's albums.....and while I would LOVE that to happen, I hope we as a fandom temper our expectations a bit. I mean their kind of success is pretty exceptional--not many artists nowadays sell that many albums or have that many number 1's from an album--and I think it's waaaay too soon to get our hopes up that much. This is not to say it can't happen or he isn't talented enough to produce material to get him there....I just think we should wait to hear the material before we make such grandiose statements is all. YMMV. Did the audio postion of Byron's thing come out yet? Jeebus. IA, don't jinx it. I'm feeling occasional ambitious thoughts that he is in competition with current Jessie J or could even get up there with 2010 Bruno. That would be awesome in my book, anything else is gravy.

I also wanted to bring over these tips for successfully playing the Q102 takeover kindly compiled by Lady R on FYE. She's chatted back and forth with Maxwell a few times on twitter. "for anyone who cares about the takeover voting, maxwell told me that the first song is always the most requested of the day. you request on the homepage by thumbing up a song (it's also how they sort the first list). so peeps should still vote up starting 2-10 minutes before 8PM to get a jump but it won't necessarily be first. also, the songs count automatically drops back to 0 after a switch so like it he's #1 and it switches and he drops, it cause peeps stopped voting for a sec cause they were complacent lol. " So if Adam is at the top of the takeover, don't slack off, keep on voting him up until he's played. Also vote down the closest threats to him (above him if he's rising, below him if he's at the top). Also if you are logged in with facebook (it won't show on your fb page), your vote counts for more. rabbitrabbit, Would you mind terribly if I posted this info on AO? Oops that reminds me, I should really ask Lady R about quoting her. I'll tweet her and see. ETA: she says it's fine, share away!

adamlambert Adam Lambert Has everyone requested #BTIKM on your favorite radio station this morning? Let's storm 'em!! thanks!! 4 seconds ago Favorite Retweet Reply would it be possible to have the link to requestadam.com or any link that gives us all the info for where to request in the headline news everyday or random posts throughout the day to remind those of us that don't venture to other threads and need some cheerleading and guidance to know what can be done each day? Are others out there like me? Another question, it seems that radiostations have evolved since the FYE era and are using twitter and facebook more. Are twitter and facebook requests becoming as important to some stations as mediabased forms? After reading this: Become One With Facebook! Posted on December 24, 2011
Get ready! By early January, you’ll need a Facebook account to take part in your stations’ polls and to interact with them. In just one short week, we’ve already seen several stations using Facebook as a means of voting for Adam’s “BTIKM” in a competition. Beyond that, Facebook is a big part of many stations’ everyday communication with listeners. A few tips about using Facebook:
Voting – Only vote once per day, per station poll. It will look like spamming otherwise, which we don’t want! Location & Name – I don’t have my location listed on my account because in this day and age I think it’s safer. So when I post anything all they see is my user name and not the town/state where I live! My user name is my actual name because I’m an actual person … a sea of fan names like LittleMonster87, Glambert4EverSue or AnnLovesJustin98 can tend to look less real and more spam-like. Usage – If you don’t want to inundate your Facebook friends with Adam content, remember you can turn off select postings/activity from your wall. Or if you’re like me, you could care less – and, in fact, hope they see it!
P.S. Please also “like” the RequestAdam Facebook. I created a new FB ( with a new hotmail acct so no real life people can find me with a fake but real looking name) and my first twitter account to follow my local stations. But if you don't have your location, can you request from some other big stations? Do some of them even want the extra people to jack up there #s ? Sorry for the ramble but as a chicagoan who feels useless in our black hole, seeing Adam's tweet makes me want to be more helpful. Personally I think a prominent link to requestadamlambert.com/ and daily PIA reminders in the thread would be great. This site really answers everyone's questions. It tells you whether your station has played the song, tells you how often to request (2 or 3 x a week if they haven't, daily if they have).
In the top black bar are links to all the Hot AC and CHR stations including all the ways to request, especially the easy mediabase online forms.
I remember last time we could request from Z100 NY and Q102 even if we were out of the area. On last weeks facebook spin or bin polls I saw a fair number of out of area people commenting on the posts to spin. These contests usually only last for a very short time (an hour?) and I think Adam won them all and I didn't hear of dj's complaining. Some stations dj's will tweet or FB asking for requests. Some stations don't seem to use their twitters or FB for anything but outgoing tweets/posts. I have noticed from listening on air that local text requests seem to get played a lot. (durn that i don't know how to text on my very crappy phone).

WUT DO WE THINK THE VIDEO TWIST IS?!?!?! Someone on my feed had an idea I actually like. Adam is singing and at the end u find out he is like schizo and singing to himself LMAO. If done right it could be cool and not cheesy. IDK IDK. THOUGHTS? I had this thought the other day too, like either he's playing two characters/sides of himself, or it's a mirror thing or something. It could easily involve light and dark sides too. I don't know but I want to see whatever it is!!
