Nica, pretty much anything from Doors is great. And I can also relate to "People Are Strange" for the reasons mentioned.... on the other hand "When in Rome, do as the Romans do." Lulu, you're right, Bat out of Hell should be on the list! Impossible tasks, so many great songs....

See that's what's so interesting about frame of reference. Most people see living for today as a positive thing and most of the time I do too, but in the context of seeing the rest of the song talking about no passion, no belief, etc. I see living for today as more of a mindless going through the motions type thing. Of course that was what my life felt like then because, to borrow from Bono again, I was "Stuck in a Moment". I couldn't see a future that wasn't just more of the same that was beating me into the ground in the first place. I couldn't drum up any feeling or passion or hope. I was so disconnected emotionally from the world that nothing was getting through and to me the lyrics of 'Imagine' were painting a picture of that nothingness. I made the decision that I would watch the Live Aid broadcast and if I could watch the whole thing without feeling SOMETHING then what use was there to hang around. I was convinced that I was of no use to anyone much less my toddler who I thought would be better off with my mother-in-law raising her than with me. Thank God for Bono because when he jumped off that stage to drag that girl out of the crowd and put his arms around her to just sway to the music I FELT it. In that moment I felt arms around me and a profound sense of LOVE. And that is why I'm still around. My life didn't change overnight and in truth I totally blanked that whole experience out of my memory for years but that was the turning point for me. What's even stranger is that although I remained aware of U2 in a vague way I didn't become a "fan" until 2005 and my exploration of their history gradually dug up a lot of memories that I had blocked out. When the Live Aid DVD came out and I was watching it I started remembering more and more about the day I actually watched it and before I got to the U2 part I had to stop the DVD and let the memories wash over me. It was a very strange experience to say the least. Rihannsu, thanks for sharing. Music has always helped me through tough times and what I've seen/read here, many have said the same. The universal power of music is real. I, for one, am glad that you are around and a part of this board as I enjoy your posts and outlook on life tremendously. Plus I get to learn a lot about the music business via your U2 knowledge. WLL & hugs to you!

Well, we have a looot of godies here tonight. Many favorites of mine were already posted... Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Moody Blues, CCR, Jethro Tull, Queen, The Who, Michael Jackson, Annie Lennox, Bowie... So, my list of "Greatest Songs" is as follows. The first one has become my most played song, overriding anything else on my playlist, can you blame me? I also love the Foxwoods version posted earlier. 1. WLL - Adam Lambert Fantasy SpringsBest rock song, used to be my number one.... link posted earlier 2. Bohemian Rhapsody - QueenBest jazz song, although Miles Davies/Kind of Blue and Thelonius Monk w Caravan come close... 3. Birdland - performed here by The Manhattan TransferSomething modern; although part of it (Mozart is from 1791, don't know if Q3 will approve, lol) 4. Lacrymosa - EvanescenceOne from Doors is a must, so I went with this one, today. 5. Raiders on the Storm - The DoorsJust impossible to just pick five..... mercy.... Loved the Supertramp, Gelly! Chunkey, I got some new ones from you to listen to. Today's been so much fun! And Mia & Zinnia, thanks so much for the Sauli-thread, I will pop in to look what you lovely ladies have gathered there!

I saw your tweet and I retweeted it!!!! And not OT, it shows the double standards! Great "apology"!!! ;D I'm really glad that CB was confronted like that n public, despite the humorous tone. Andy's point came across loud and clear. Hoping the fans of CB & industry will get the message as well...

Midwifespal, thanks for bringing this article over; I had not seen it before. The ending's a bit uncanny, talking about Adam being an outlaw... True then and apparently something that Adam still feels, despite the growing success & support. He needs to perform live soon, to have the energy exchange from the audience. A surprise performance at BM? LOL

Maybe you could modify the reminder settings to next decade/century, to be more realistic, yes? ;D
