What are “The Greatest Songs of All Time”?
9.3.11 by Q3

For the past 5 months Adam has been working on writing great songs. So while we wait to hear this music (tap tap tap fingertap) I thought it might be interesting to create the ATop list of “The 100 Greatest Songs of All Time”. It is really simple – just post your list of 5 Great Songs in the thread. For example, you could post that you think “MacArthur Park” is one of “The 100 Greatest Songs of All Time” and add an explanation if you wish.

Here are the rules:
1. Post up to 5 songs in any order.
2. Songs nominated must be composed since 1900.
3. Nominate only songs with English language lyrics.
4. Great songs are defined by their quality, not by sales and chart rankings, but a “Greatest Song” cannot be totally obscure.
5. Songs can be from almost any genre but the following are excluded: Classical Music, Religious (Sacred) Songs, Christmas Songs or Children’s Songs

Any ATop Member can nominate up to 5 songs. Nominations can be made for the next 27 hours and will end on 9/3/11 at 11:59PM Pacific Time. The ATop Members will vote on the nominated songs to select the “The 100 Greatest Songs of All Time”.

Adam's ability as a lyricist. Just a reminder of the wonderful program Angelina Kalahari did called "Adam Lambert's Powerful Lyrics". Her guest was an expert on English literature. It makes for good listening, or if you prefer, you can read the transcript. If you haven't checked it out, do so while we wait for new words.

You guys - I'm lookin, I'm looking!!!

Just returned to our camper for a change of costume - then back out to the Playa. We have been part of the Trojan Horse project all year - and, tonite, we led the procession thru the 'gates of Troy' on the Playa to where the behemoth will burn at midnight. DH is 'Dionysis' and had a huge cadre of nymphs and satyrs - and his goddess wife to accompany him. No one had an idea the horse would move so easily - - I mean, it's 28 tons! It flew across the Playa, and we literally had to run from its path! Now, we have a couple of hours to fill before the burn. Earlier today we removed the 'bar' - the place of absinthe and darkness - and filled it with wood and accelerants. At midnight, archers will send flaming arrows into the horse, and it will burn well. I'm typing to a pulsation from the Playa. Too fast for a heartbeat. The quickened pulse of exquisite excitement! Have to go - you cannot believe how my radar is scanning for that gorgeous tall man with the square shoulders and purposeful gait - accompanied by the acrobatic cutie pie.

GREAT GAME IDEA, Q3!

I moved this post from the old dead thread, but this doesn't count as one of my 5 best EVAH songs...I just like it a lot!

I wanna hear Adam sing this song (and make a similar video, with Sauli--or clips of him and S--please!) It wouldn't require lyric changes. And he could sing it for Sauli when he's touring next year!

AND THE BURNING MAN FIREWORKS WERE AWESOME THIS YEAR!

ETA: Mys*&@^#r, they actually worked on the Trojan Horse in--ok, now I forgot--SF I'm pretty sure, where BM office is. (or LA)
Anyhow, they got all the pieces built, then transported it to Black Rock. IT'S 5 STORIES TALL AND HAD A BAR INSIDE!

So I'm on the computer, at almost midnight, watching a live stream of a desert town that only exists for one week each year, hoping to see, in this darkness, either momtomany or Adam Lambert, and anxiously waiting for a giant horse to burn!

The desert can get very cold at night, even during summer.
