I love the idea of Super Bowl 50 - but I think some Adam fans should brace themselves that if it does happen there would be guests....QAL would be the main artist, but there are always guests...just like this year had Katy Perry with Missy E and Lenny Kravitz, etc. So it wouldn't be because Adam's not good enough or whatever but because it's standard fare to have a lot of guest moments... Personally I would love a QAL/Foo Fighters/Slash show :D I do not agree. I think the only chance (and really slim) of Queen being invited to do the Super Bowl halftime show is if Adam ends up with 5 mega hits on US radio from TOH. *** The network cares about US viewers between 18-49, 60% non-hispanic white -- and that does not align to Queen fans. What is the average age of a US Queen fan -- 60? And mostly white. IMO there is little to no chance that Queen would get a Super Bowl halftime invite. They will select..... 1. Current artist: They three artists who were considered for this year were Coldplay, Rihanna and Katy Perry. All current artists. 2. Massive social media pretense: Katy Perry is #1 musician on social media with 64.6 million Twitter followers etc. 3. Important in the US market. Last 5 headliners -- all major pop artists: Katy, Bruno, Rihanna, Madonna (and 6 other acts), Black Eyed Peas/Usher/Slash 4. An artist who can deliver massive ratings with high penetration in the demo - the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show headlined by Katy Perry in 2015 is now the most-watched halftime show in history, with 118.5 million viewers, surpassing Bruno Mars's 115.3 million in 2014. (two pop artists) 5. Not a muddled mess of artists -- One of the worst halftime shows ever was the muddled mess of that Madonna show (2012) -- with Cee-Lo Green, M.I.A., Nicki Minaj, LMFAO, dozens more. They will almost certainly keep the show more focused for a while. 6. Not an all white halftime -- Diversity is a factor, particularly for the NFL -- They will almost certainly not book a bunch of white men ever again. (Queen, Foo Fighters, Slash is a bunch of white guys). Check the ratings. The worst ratings are for the "white guys" shows. Then there is the Players Association (68% of NFL players are African American). 7. Not a Classic Rock headliner -- The Who (2010) were terrible and that was too recent. The last really great rock halftime was U2 in 2002 and they were/are not a classic era band. The big classic rock acts have not generated high ratings -- The Who, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney (classic pop-rock), Bruce Springsteen. > Yes, Queen has two of the most iconic sports anthems in their catalog -- WWRY and WATC. But I do not think that is enough. IMHO The only shot of Brian and Roger appearing as part of a Super Bowl halftime show are:1. As part of a multi-artist show, but not with Queen as the headliner. And while I love Bri and Roger, there are many more famous lead guitarist and drummers in the US. (I think Brian is underrated in the US but that is not really the point. In 2011 Rolling Stone's expert panel put Brian at number 26 www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/100-greatest-guitarists-20111123/brian-may-20111122 I would put him about #15.) OR..... 2. If Adam becomes a megastar with TOH -- and he brings Queen, AVICII, Nile Rodgers + Chic and Slash to the Super Bowl with him. Now that would be a halftime show! (Plus we can through in the Grambling State Marching Band. ) **** Speculating is a lot of fun. I am just happy to see Q+AL on a list of possible Super Bowl halftime acts. They will probably hire JLo and Pittbull anyway!

Nikki, I love your positive spin on that fan incident. But this IG shows a better angle of what happens. It shows how hard Adam got pulled back by said "fan!" :( He had no choice but to go back to her! The scariest part of this whole incident, for me, was that security seems oblivious!
I will never understand how people can be so rude as to yank on an artist's arm as they walk by them. This happened to Kelly Clarkson when she was performing the closing at the VMAs in 2005. She was almost yanked backwards. I don't think even consider that they could cause an injury to the artist.

I really don't expect it...BUT If they were the Foos and Slash would be likely friends along for the ride...BUT on that note you are right about diversity so they'd have to throw in an RnB or rap act to go along with them.... Unless TOH is like THE album of 2014, I doubt Adam would get the slot to bring Queen with him either..HOWEVER...perhaps if TOH is a VERY huge hit, it might be enough to drag out the collaboration that would attract the young pop demograhic (Adam) with the classic rock crowd (Queen) and then fill in the blanks with the remaining bits and pieces...

The security you see in the IG is mostly the security from the venue. They have no clue what to do in an incident like this, obviously. What you don't see in this IG is that Adam is being followed by his own security too. I was at the front in Cologne so I had the opportunity to watch what they do from close by. They get ready before Radio Gaga, scan the crowd, walk around the B-stage and generally are on extra alert before he goes down those stairs. I am sure they would have done something if this would have lasted more than just the split second that it did. It is still scary though, I agree. And I am also sure that Adam did have a choice. He could have tried to pull his arm loose, and he has quite got some muscles lately so he probably would have succeeded too. But I think he made the better choice of going with it and getting out more gently that way.

This list of halftime show performers tells me that there is no set formula to who they will pick to perform. I think they start putting feelers out very early for the next year and a decision is made a lot earlier than it is announced so that preparations can be made. Of course they care about the ratings of the half-time show but people tune in to watch the game and the commercials as much as the half-time show.
What they really need to bring in viewers is another super close game like this years' game. That is why people tune in. They want to see a great game between equally matched teams not a blow out by one side or the other. This game came down to the final seconds and it was incredible.

Day-um. It seems to me that Dr Brian May is getting increasingly hotter. The skull shirt? Yum. Can't find a really clear picture right now, but here's a blurry one: and a video. ~1:03 to 1:14 pbs.twimg.com/media/B83tlcMCUAAeVlF.jpg

Perhaps I am in minority, but IMO there is no way in hell NFL invites Adam. He can be THE singer of 2015, he can be nominated to all Grammy categories, he can be the only person played on the radio and IMO they will still NOT invite him. (Even though we did elect Obama, and twice... )

Red Panda, he wore that skull shirt at the beginning of the tour too! I love it! And, close up, he is very hot! The man has flawless peaches and cream skin! ❤️

Pretty much every facet of our society seems to have gotten past 2009 views of Gays. Institutions like press, TV, NFL, are trying to change their image. And more importantly, THE LAW!! If we can't be more positive about these changes, how can we expect them to? Like I said yesterday, unless Adam is BIG I do not expect a Super Bowl invite. TBH, I don't even care! IMO, the next SB doesn't fit the timing for QAL. However, if they were ever going to invite iconic heritage acts, the 50th anniversary would certainly be the right time for them. I am SO ready for TOH!! BRING IT ON!!
