I'd like Adam to be more well known so that my friends don't think I'm just a nut and maybe I can mention him now and then and not get either head shakes or blank stares. But that's my problem, not his! Realistically, I know he's doing fine. I used to be worried about his success, but I'm not any more. Not a damned thing I can do about it anyhow. Y'know, you said a lot in your short post. I could mention any popular singer in casual conversation with most of my friends and they'd say, "Oh yeah, I like (him/her) too." They'd respond that way even if they weren't an uber-fan of that particular singer. They'd just answer as an indication of general acceptance, a kind of "Sure, I'm ok with that singer." But mentioning Adam is somewhat different, as many of us have found out. Sure, he's well enough known that when you mention him, people will know who he is. But the general acceptance response of "Oh, yeah, I like him," is something you might not get. He often elicits a strong reaction, sometimes negative or dismissive. Maybe the "anti-Idol" thing or that "too gay" thing or even the AMAs. Maybe there is less of that now than there used to be. All I know is that I don't mention him too much to people unless I already know they like him. AND, JUST TO ADD, SINCE I WAS LATE TO THIS DISCUSSION, I remember someone commenting a LONG time ago on some site that Adam might be more successful if he was black or if he had a British accent. How's THAT for a theory? The person said it has to do with what makes a person seem "cool." Kind of funny, but it could have merit. Lord knows, Americans are charmed by a British accent.

"I end with a question - do you really just want Adam to be wildly popular? If he put our a country album and it was #1 with lots of #1 hits, would you be happy? Of he could do an album of Christmas covers? Or do standards like Michael Buble. (Country music is the #1 genre in the US, Urban is #2, Pop is #4 in sales) I would not be happy, and I am sure Adam would not be happy either. There is more to success than just getting on the radio and selling a lot of albums/track. There are loads of artists who had a few bit hits then faded away. Adam is still here, and making a lot of money, and recognized as a great vocalist and performer, and working on his 4th solo album."
Thank you, Q3, for putting into words my exact feelings on Adam's progress since Idol. I am so thrilled with how successful he has been and the fact that he has achieved that longevity for which he said he thrived. He's stuck it out in the industry and has garnered tons of praise and respect, not just from his fans, but also from many industry greats. Adam is a worldwide star, just like we all hoped he'd become. There are many ways to become a star and many levels of stardom. Fine, he's not as commercially successful as some, but he has managed to stay relevant in a really tough market. I'm a proud fan!

Off topic.
Dec 16 concert special. Their manager is really working this group of hers! Natalie Ong has a VOICE! Isaiah...kinda like to close my eyes and just enjoy his voice. Both amazing talents. Isaiah is just more to my personal musical preference. I just love his voice..and his kind of shy/awkward demeanor. Over time, I hope to see his stage presence blossom a bit as he hopefully becomes more comfortable and confident performing. I think he's cute as a button...and have been listening on repeat to his album.

I love all 3 of Adam's mentorees and hope they all go very far in their music careers!!! They are all different but all great!!! I thought it was criminal the way that the show eliminated one from each mentor after the first live show. They should have just eliminated the bottom 2 each week. Glad to see Natalie included in the Christmas show! I am also enjoying Isaiah's album in Spotify!

I really liked her Angekic voice. Gotta check out her YouTube covers. Girls gonna be a star if promoted. Or picked up by a label. Even if she only finds success in OZ. I reckon she has potential.

Have you checked out Amalia's original song ...on youtube ---Sweet Serenity? Unbelievably wonderful... So many talented artists out there, and as per today's conversation...love the song and her voice, and it may never go further than a youtube...it's a crime! Isaiah's voice is distinctly "Isaiah" ...and as he won the competition, I am so hopeful for guidance that allows him to flourish as an artist. I have listened to his songs over and over...Halo in particular is masterful and showed the kind of potential for him.
