WE all have layers. some we keep to ourselves, some only our closest family friends see but to the world we show many things.. How we look dress, act or speak depends on circumstance or activity. What personality trait, i've wondered makes me comfortable at burning man or at a fancy restaurant. Yet in both cases I'm me. Adam I would think has even more layers and when he shows them feel privileged that he is comfortable enough now to do so. A-MEN! It baffles me to read posts suggesting that "Era 2" and "Era3" Adam (a weird expression in itself) are sooo distant from who Adam "really" is to the point where it's almost phony! In my opinion it is doing Adam quite wrong trying to box/stereotype him...like he's said some boxes are important to check to give us a feeling of self and belonging but not too much, so that it doesn't separate us. Nobody said they were wrong or phony, A2 and A3 were just trying to talk about something else for a change. It must be tiring to talk about nothing but male-female or gay topics. Adam intentionally steered the story away from that, that was his choice. The presumption is that he wanted to talk about other things. So he did. We all have many layers, that does not mean that something is phony, just because it focuses on something different.

I will always accept and respect Adam Lambert the man and entertainer. I think and hope his new music will be great. Don't want him to be anything other than who he is. Never saw him as a stereotype and never will. It has worked and been a pleasure for all these years so I expect it will continue for many more. Yes, we all have many layers and we choose to show them in any form we wish. Adam is the same. Others cannot decide how he will present himself (no matter their preference or speculation) at any given time and that is a good thing. We don't know him personally so i will wait to see what he intends to do next era and with QAL. I suspect it will be wonderful.

Talon, THANK YOU! I can certainly hear Adam taking this song on as it's sung in his register (if that's even the correct term). Can't even tell you enough how much I've enjoyed your posts. Looking forward to this coming tour and reading your take on things. Fair and balanced - LOL - but true. I love that Adam gets the opportunity to experiment with Queen's catalog - personally, in most cases I've loved Adam's spin on things. Of course, he's not Freddie (haha), but he does a damn fine job performing and commanding our attention. A true frontman for a band like Queen. Really, you know it took courage to take it all on. :D Thanks! I agree - it's a nice dramatic rock song, so Adam should be able to interpret it nicely! -"Only played live through 1979. It is a very difficult track to pull off live." Not if you're a "voice in a billion!" Actually...yes, even if Having sung the song before, I would actually liken it to Don't Stop Me Now in that pretty much the whole song sits on the top of the register, something even Adam has said he said made DSMN one of the songs that was a difficult track to pull off. NOTE - not impossible - Adam can pull it off - it's just not an easy track!

So much analysis of the "real Adam" from folks who don't even know him! Drives me nuts! Isn't possible that there are just many layers and sides of one person? We are lucky to stan a man who shows us so much. I'm with you. The only thing I feel I know about Adam is he can sing the paint off the walls and likes shoes (one in evidence every time he performs, the other something he's admitted in interviews)... A preference for one shade of Adam vs a different shade is legitimate. But that doesn't make it a truth.

We all have many layers, that does not mean that something is phony, just because it focuses on something different. you have a good point on Adam wanting to steer the discussion away from the gay topic...which still was quite present, even if not as much... but I still don't see Adam creating the fake(phony) calmer, stripped back image JUST for pr reasons to get more mainstream acceptance...essentially it's saying that if it weren't for pr reasons he'd still be wearing rhinestones and glitter...I simply believe Adam, when he says the FYI-era was what he felt at the time, the way he wanted to express himself at the time, what he wanted to get out there but he's moved on... For what it's worth, yes I too feel that Adam seemed a bit calmer, settled, content in TOH-Era and is now more on the "wild-side" of things again if ya will...this of course jmho and all observed from a distance ...the only "limitation" Adam has from my perspective is that he "has to" stay consistent throughout one era for pr reasons...

As "Madam Lambert" he is not going to get into mainstream for sure! I think you have lost touch with current pop radio and the mainstream of people who are under 30. JMHO, I don't think this title matters. Adam is Adam. He has been successful on his own terms and that is a large part of why he has an impact. Once again, JMHO. I am sure many will not agree with me. But I am used to that.

I don't think age or a title we'll determine mainstream success. Music we'll. Their are ALOT of artists on pop radio over 30 charting. Adam just needs music that resonates with the masses. I like the sound of more instruments and earthy. Sounds promising. Go on social media young ppl don't determine ppl by labels. Adam has broken barriers by being him. I don't think that has changed.

Each day I peruse Atop news ...and opinions...learning, smiling, shaking my head and going through all other sorts of thinkings and feelings. Whether I question his golf hat choice for a flight--due to wordage, admire his keeping his cool with the paparazzi, wonder about what new songs he is memorizing as he flies to London, etc etc... ---what I really wanted to know was ----Who is looking after Pharaoh? And I am not kidding! Haha (Waiting for ninjas to uncover the mystery.)
