Well, not really a surprise. WBR hasn't shown much interest in him in over year. I just hope he somehow finds another label. I don't think that's at all a given. Really hard for your music to make any kind ofimpact without label support. A good chunk of the last twelve months has been taken up with QAL. It's the "curse" of having two jobs. He wasn't ready with new music during all that QAL touring, etc. I don't think WB got rid of him. I think he left on his own. Dunno.

I have a gut feeling that Adam had a change of heart, or may be some sort of an epiphany with renewed creative juices flowing, last summer around writing camp time in France. That's just me. Not sure if that decision influenced the label change or not. But I do believe that he is at a point in his career where he can afford to make less compromises both when it comes to time pressure as well as artistic decisions. I am sure that none of his songs are lost - he probably will have lots to choose from when compiling an album. The writing camp was Warner’s, I would think any songs that came from that endeavor would likely have some permanent tieback to them. Maybe Warner Bros had something to do with Adam going to the writing camp, who knows. However, it is was an ASCAP songwriting camp at Castle Marouatte in France. Writers, producers, and recording artists seem to come from a variety of places. I think the 2017 camp was the 7th annual ASCAP camp since the tradition was revived from writing camps the owner, Miles Copeland, would hold in the past. There is an Atop thread with photos from the camp from around Sept 23rd or 24th, 2017. peace&love

I just finished reading Paul Simon-The Life, a biography of the musician by Robert Hilburn,long-time music critic at the LA Times. Simon,as a solo artist following his years as Simon and Garfunkel,is now in his late 70's and has had a thriving professional music career as a songwriter and vocalist, but the journey has been a roller coaster ride, to say the least. Many ups and downs with various labels, managers and collaborators along the way. The one thing that has been a constant has been Paul's desire to remain true to himself and retain his artistic integrity. The complexities of the business side of music, record sales, radio play, personal relationships etc are astounding---and we can't even begin to know what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe someday, when Adam's biography has been written, we'll have an inkling on what he's been dealing with all these years---and the years yet to come.
