The writing camp was Warner’s, I would think any songs that came from that endeavor would likely have some permanent tieback to them. Maybe Warner Bros had something to do with Adam going to the writing camp, who knows. However, it is was an ASCAP songwriting camp at Castle Marouatte in France. Writers, producers, and recording artists seem to come from a variety of places. I think the 2017 camp was the 7th annual ASCAP camp since the tradition was revived from writing camps the owner, Miles Copeland, would hold in the past. There is an Atop thread with photos from the camp from around Sept 23rd or 24th, 2017. peace&love Yes I wasn’t real clear there, ASCAP because of the licensing and writing aspect. Unless the label contract split was earlier than believed and prior to the camp Warner would have a stake in his product. What precisely that means to the music I don’t know. 🤷♀️

I do hope we hear something soon. Otherwise there will be the he was dropped. Or he left on his own because he wanted to do something different. Or a combination of both. There are only three major labels (with multiple labels in the group) so if it is Safehouse/Island I would feel a lot better. I think Philymack is also in partnership with JayZ. Also I would like to think his management would be instrumental in making sure he had a place to land. But if Adam Levine could not make his label work, with all his money, connections and opportunities, I don't see how Adam starting a label could work for him or anyone he might want to sign. I actually have been having an uneasy feeling lately because Adam seemed to be talking more about homophobia in music. He has always talked about the subject to a degree but lately it has been front and center. It seems if he were comfortable with his label, he would have pulled his punches a bit. Just hate that he hasn't found a home where his label takes care of him. Anyway, just speculating like everyone else. The bottom line is we just don't know what happened or where he will land. Can only hope for the best for him.

They are scary - I always want only the best for Adam and for his road to be smooth and easy and his career success to be everything he desires.

Adam may be talking more than usual about homophobia, etc., after all, he did do that Mosaic event. And he has been asked lately about the impact of being gay on his career. So, it hasn't necessarily been just him bringing it up. He has said that his next album has songs of all types. So, to me, that means he'll have songs about gay issues, etc., but also songs about life and love like everyone else has. And he even said there would be songs that are fun and silly and not serious. So I'm not too worried that there is some new "gay obsession" in his conversation or intent with his new music. I think his new music will be a good mix. Sure hope this label thing gets explained pretty soon, or we'll all keep going crazy over it.

Don't think Adams was dropped...I'm not really worried but it probably does explain why the album is taking a bit. I don't think Adam would talk about "wrapping up" after the EU tour, before Vegas, if it still were that uncertain... With all the angst I've been through when I came to this fandom, I've gotten alot more chill and I can't even begin to imagine, what it must have been like in the earlier years, when things really got a bit scary and where unclear. lorraine thanks for mentioning the book. Sounds like a book to read, even if you're more interested in the musicbiz, than the person or band. ...and yes, Adam...we can't get enough

Adam is gay and if he wants to be obsessed he can and will. Don't know what he is writing about or what he will record other than he said Queen influenced, rock, funk, soul and disco. I guess my point was taken to another level but okay.

I know we haven't seen Adam being so open about his actual experiences which he is referencing in the latest press. If he is inspired to express his history and feelings about elections, so be it. I have a high school friend - this is going back 40 years - who is married to a same sex episcopal minister - and the repercussions of the HeWhoCannot amed administration -are mind numbing.

I doubt Adam was dropped by WBR. I would say parted ways for creative reasons. And I don't agree WBR have not care about him. You can't really promote an artist when they have no music. So I Don't think that is the problem. I doubt with half an album already written. He would leave a Label with no contingency plan. Like with his change of management. I am confident he has found a label that well suit him.

IMHO Adam was not dropped from RCA ,they were no longer compatible and Adam didn't want to make the album they wanted.I believe Adam will go where he has the most ability to do his art in his way.. Since RCA main guy moved over to Warner.. seemed worrisome to me.. Same thinking all over again.. Adam needs to be authentic, needs to be with label that gets him and encourages him to be unique.. Right now we have Queen and Adam in all their glory.. I feel like the luckiest fan It could explain the long time he's spent getting new music out. If he did decide to move it might have resulted in a certain time period before he could announce the move or release new music, like when he left RCA. Makes sense to me.
It explains the extended period of working on A4 completely -- he probably needed to wait one year from when he gave notice. Since he just disappeared from the WBR site, that puts the notice at April-May, 2017.
I would not be surprised if he signed a 360 degree deal with PhilyMack and will now be on Safehouse Records/Island Records/UMG.
If this is what is going on, then Adam is now in the same label family as Queen.
