Well, a good translater should be able to relay the meaning and not translate word by word to the point it makes no sense in the target language...I don’t know German, so I’m going by the reaction of our German speakers here and I am thinking this one is on the translater...Adam’s double entendre sounds quite good in English...YMMV Exactly. This is a challenge translators and interpreters face all the time. The absolutely wrong thing is to translate the exact words rather than the meaning. Sometimes the best solution is to just drop the joke completely. A famous interpreter legend is of NIxon's interpreter for a China visit. He had several speeches to give, and insisted on opening with a joke, as is popular for US speakers. Culturally, it was not appropriate in China and the joke did not translate either. But, Nixon would not drop it. Then, surprisingly, the next time, the audience laughed uproariously. What had the interpreter done? Instead of translating the joke, he had said, "The president is telling a joke that does not translate. When I tell you, laugh very loud." I can't blame Adam for this misunderstanding. What a wonderful story Cassie! Whether true or not, it translates well ... my son thought it was hilarious too

The joke of course doesn't go over as easily in German as in does in English but because the translator explained it I thought it was ok. I for one didn't take Brians reaction as negative. It's very great that Adam could get in some solo-music talk...but are we back to "soon" or what?! P.S.: anyone notice that Adam decides to talk about red as the color of passion and love the moment he sees Sauli again after half a year...just putting that out there The "color of passion and love" looks good on him Did he wear that outfit for sightseeing? If so, I am impressed. An all red hot outfit sure doesn't blend in with the crowds haha.

I think any reasonably intelligent German speaking person with a sense of humor would understand Adam's joke just fine if they simply were told that a "leg" in English can also mean a segment of a trip or journey. Voila! The double-entendre Adam made suddenly becomes pretty good joke. Good think he didn't do it to death. Wearing out a joke is a sure may to spoil it. I do love Adam's naughty sense of humor. He uses it with such a cute, sly way about him. Like it just pops out and he can't help it. LOL. Watching the video, I don't think Brian was shocked. He pretended to clutch his pearls - another joke.

I smile when I read of Adam fans being concerned that Brian will be offended or shocked by what Adam says or does. Yes, Brian and Roger are older gentlemen, but that does not eliminate their many years of experience at being rock stars with all the wild excesses that includes. Obscenities peppered the speech of many people around them, and they have used them, too. And sex, random and frequent, is part of the rock star mystique. The expression is "sex, drugs, and rock and roll" after all. Freddie was renowned for being raunchy and reveling in the outrageous. It is doubtful that Adam would do anything that would shock them.

Just curious, and the question is not only to you, but do you guys really think, that it’s a good „introduction“ for the still rather unknown singer, when the first thing, you hear him say is: „in between legs is my favorite place to be“? That is, what happened in this interview. Joking or not, it probably would have turned me off, if that was the first thing I knew about him. And the speaker explained the joke, I think I would have felt the same way in English. All in all it was a good, to see them on TV.

The joke was not one of Adam's winning moments, especially in that particular interview where it came across as more explicit than previously. However, the many awesome concert clips probably more than made up for it

nightowl ...point taken. As a celebrity there are different things I would share/say on Ellen compared to a Q&A with 30 fans before a show, but that's just me. Thing is that Adam has always admired Freddies free spirit, not giving "two fux". I'm convinced Adam would know a 1000% what to do to be "more appealing" to the masses. Others might dislike something about Adam that we, his fans, absolutely adore him for. I have to think of the situation, when Adam gained followers on social media with X-factor Australia and had a big drop when they couldn't the red lipstick he sported celebrating David Bowies birthday.

Watching the clip I had the impression Brian was slightly surprised by him saying that but I doubt he was shocked or bothered, Adam's been saying all sorts of things onstage with them for years, I think they would have stopped him by now if it bothered them. One of my favourite bits was the intro to CLTCL in 2014 when he licked the mic and said I love it when it sucks, Brian's face playing along was priceless, they're like a double act. love it.

Onstage, Adam has thrown in sexy references. Sitting on Frank, he says, "He gives good head." And remember the "I like nuts. Macadamia!" He kind of stumbled into that one but made it a joke and both Brian and the crowd got a kick out of. I know it's different in an interview, but I don't think any interviewer views Adam as a prim and proper kind of guy. They know enough of his history.
