Bringing this over from yesterday's thread: I love to read and see videos of people talking about Adam's voice, and opining on how extraordinary it is. I am thinking about conducting an interview with Angelina Kalahari and asking her questions that fans have about Adam's voice. So, if you could ask one question of a voice expert about Adam's singing, voice and performance, what would it be? I will compile the questions and share with Angelina. And, do you think a 15 minute video of her answers would be more interesting than an audio or a blog? Thanks for your input. Such good questions already but does she have any insight on how he manages to maintain the high energy level, move about the stage, remember all the songs, interact with the rest of the band, etc for two hours? I can't think of any other live performer I've seen who delivers such a solid performance on every level every time and makes it look so natural and easy.
Would love to see a video that includes some clips from his performances that illustrate the points you're discussing. Maybe he would post the video on his FB, YT and website (which for now is basically a placeholder page). Really like the video you posted from Save Me with the a capella verse before the chorus. IMO that or something similar would be excellent to use since it so clearly sets him apart from the talent of others.
So glad you're doing this Cassie. I've wondered why Adam's team hasn't put together videos showcasing his performances and amazing reviews. He's a marketer's dream!

What a fantastic set of threads today! I remember all these interviews and the small live performances in front of a small group. His voice is beyond perfect. Yes, it has matured, but that has enhanced all the bright tones and lower rich tones and nuances that he has so skillfully placed in every song. He is a master. And despite the fact that there are lots of really good singers out there, he really stands apart. No denying it. I think he has been blessed with the perfect singer's body, too. Broad chest that helps with lung power and tone. A strong, muscular body with a neck and jaw to match. All this stuff comes together like the perfect thoroughbred horse who wins race after race. Singing at this level is a truly athletic workout. It takes every you've got to deliver like that. You're right and speaking of a perfect singer's body, there is something I have always wondered about that maybe you or Cassie can answer. I have always noticed that Adam's teeth/bite is very wide. You can almost see his molars when he smiles. It gives him such a big beautiful smile My palate is narrower with a bite is more like this except with a few extra chins: Anyway, I have often wondered if that broad oral cavity enhances his vocal ability. So what do you guys think? I think you could be right. Each asset adds to a perfect mix of traits that produces a perfect sound. He's got'em all, IMO!

So what do you guys think? This is not something I have specifically studied, but I do know that in voice lessons the singer is taught to drop their jaw and expand the size of the oral cavity to create a fuller, richer sound. By expanding the size of the oral cavity you increase the lower frequency harmonics (think of singing EEEEE, vs AAAHHH). Adam has an unusual amount of those harmonics (low to high) which give his tone that yummy sound instead of something that is tinny and harsh, as is the case of some tenors. I had not noticed the size of Adam's mouth, but I have often seen him lower his jaw to enhance the tone. So, you may be right!

Audio Game - Day 2 Song: Who Wants To Live ForeverAs I mentioned last Fri/Sat, we have 2 HQ recordings for the 2018 London O2 shows. Each recording has different characteristics. We made a mix of the 2 recordings which we hope is better than each of the 2 recordings individually. To evaluate the success of the mix, we would like to play a little game. Each day I will post links to 3 audio files for the same song, one from each of the 2 recordings and one from the mixed recording. I'm not going to tell you which is which - they will be marked "A", "B", & "C" and it will change daily. I'm also not going to tell you which O2 concert the files are from. What I want from you all is to give me feed back on what you think of each recording. My feelings will not be hurt by any negative feedback on the audio. We are looking for honest feedback so that we can make the processed recordings better. I've uploaded the files in 3 formats: M4A, MP3 & FLAC. (FLAC is the best quality!) Choose which one you like. Each link will take you to that 1 song on Mega with a very prominent download button. For the M4A files only, you can also play the song directly on the Mega page!(Direct play might not work on Macs.) Please give the following feedback in the thread: 1) Which version do you like best & 2nd best? And why? 2) Which format did you listen to, FLAC, M4A, or MP3? 3) Did you listen on a PC or on a Smartphone? 4) Did you listen using speakers, headphones or earbuds? If speakers, was it the speaker on the PC or a better speaker? If you want to guess which recording is mine, Nick's, or the mix, please send that to me in a PM. I'd like to get everyone's reaction to the recordings before saying which recording is which. M4A - Play and/or DownloadWho Wants To Live Forever - AWho Wants To Live Forever - BWho Wants To Live Forever - CMP3 - Download OnlyWho Wants To Live Forever - AWho Wants To Live Forever - BWho Wants To Live Forever - CFLAC - Download OnlyWho Wants To Live Forever - AWho Wants To Live Forever - BWho Wants To Live Forever - CP.S. This is the 2nd out of 8 songs in the game. At the end of the game, I will give a full review of the feedback, including which recordings A, B, & C refer to. Dancy/and anyone else playing the game, the links for the M4A and MP3 files are transposed so be sure any feedback is for the correct format.I listened to the mp3 files as I did yesterday on a desktop with Sennheiser earbuds. File A: not so keen on the tone of this recording, Adam's voice sounded in the distance File B: my preference, Adam's voice seemed louder and crisper on this recording, a nice mix for my ears File C: nice Adam sound but backing vocals and music seemed a bit dull ... however, that song and voice in any format is golden.

girldrummer and cassie, thank you for your thoughts. The wide palate may give him just a teeny vocal extra but lordy, what a smile!

Dancy.....
FLAC files on a PC with good headphones
A. Adam is clear and upfront. I can hear the "s" in wants almost too much. Backgrounds are little harsh/scratchy. My least favorite of the three
B. This is the fullest sound...more balance between vocals and background...almost like the vocals and background are battling to see who can be the biggest sound. It has the arena...being there feel. I got an image of Adam's vocals being kinda separate...like in a box floating separately from the band.
C . I liked this one too. A nice balance of vocals and background...Adam sounded like he was on the stage with the band, instead of floating above them. The whole sound was a little less massive than B...a little thinner.
I've listened to B and C several times. I can't say one really blows the other away. They both have their pluses IMO

I listened to the M4A (mislabeled MP3) on my PC with Bose external speakers. My favorite was version A, as his voice seemed a little brighter and crisper. I liked the sound on C, but of all the songs he performs, I REALLY don't want to hear any audience sing alongs, which I could on C.
