My first instinct is for C on WWTLF.....I love Adam's voice so front and centre....and second choice is B. If I were to guess, format wise...B and C are switched from yesterday and A the same.

Audio Game - Day 2 Song: Who Wants To Live ForeverPlease give the following feedback in the thread: 1) Which version do you like best & 2nd best? And why? 2) Which format did you listen to, FLAC, M4A, or MP3? 3) Did you listen on a PC or on a Smartphone? 4) Did you listen using speakers, headphones or earbuds? If speakers, was it the speaker on the PC or a better speaker? P.S. This is the 2nd out of 8 songs in the game. At the end of the game, I will give a full review of the feedback, including which recordings A, B, & C refer to. 1) Version B - not sure how to say it but voice & sound was crisp and blended better than A or C; felt the emotion of the song come through; no other comments 2) FLAC 3) PC 4) Sennheiser headphones

My choices
I listened to the first group as I could play it on mega on my Ipad. As I could not make up my mind after 3 listens on my Ipad, I played the "first grouping" on my desktop, and the clarity was immensely improved.
This was hard. I had to pump up the volume to hear B and C as they were not even close to being as audible on the same loudness level as when I played A. The volume issue was same for my ipad and desktop.
C ..I think this might be #1 for Adam's voice quality ...but the audience sounds intrude on his vocals. The words were not as discernible as A but presented a softer more fluid tone.
A...#2... I liked A, but the sound was almost like being in an echo chamber at times, and every nuance of his diction was present.
B...# 3...I did not care for this mudddier version with all the "s's" being so pronounced.
Good luck with making your choices!😊

cassie Is it possible to analyze Love kills with Angelina? Thank you bamafan for the suggestion! When Adam sings at 4:40 that " drills you through your heart"...he sounds like in Brigadoon and it just melts me. And that intensity -its not just that he sings louder at 2:08 "...cold steel" right? He makes his voice sound sharp in unlike it sounds when he sings at 1:04 "pays no bills" where it sounds so very gentle and pretty. I'm a fan of Muse and before Idol my favorite cover they did was of "Feeling good" from their album in 2001. Matt Bellamy uses those tricks with the megaphone which made the song sound cool. When Adam sung it on Idol what blew my mind (beside the long note at the end which was downright perfect) is that part at 1:28 when he goes "from me" to "yeah..." at 1:30 www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSZCCM_j5u4Another example was in Mad World when he sings "look right through me" www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrIUU2JU65I When I first watched all the Idol performances what I kept thinking is how does he make his voice sound so very pretty and gentle in parts of the songs and sharp in others and its not the change in volume...that he sings louder...its that what Adam can do to make his voice sound different, right?

You have put your finger on one characteristic that makes Adam's singing so remarkable. He has so many different tones and colors and styles of delivery. He varies his sound from genre to genre, song to song, phrase to phrase. It is an integral part of his interpretation of a song. It's one reason he is never boring to listen to. I will certainly ask Angelina about that. Like you, I love when Adam sings with that gentle, floating, beautiful pure sound without any edge to it. It is not a rock voice there, but a much more classical sounding timbre. It soothes my soul. But then, he can turn around and get down and dirty and almost brittle for the more hard rock, metal songs. Impressive to the max.

Version A had too much of Adam and not enough of everything else, B and C were very similar, but it just seemed to my ears that in Version C Adam's voice was a bit more prominent, but not in a way that you'd lose everything else like in Version A. 2) I listened to MP3 3) On my laptop-PC 4) Using my earbuds
