I don't know a lot about Halsey but both her albums went platinum in the US and she has #1 singles and gold and platinum singles. She gets a ton of US radio play and has won Iheart and Billboard awards. She had a #1 album on the alternative chart and her last album came in at #1 on the Billboard 200. But her label is listed as Astralwerks? Is that an indie lablel? If it is, that is good news, I guess, cause it would mean that some can deliver. But I can see why she got the hosting gig as she has been doing great these last few years and not off the radio. I saw her perform on The Voice and her single and delivery did not do much for me. But it went #1 because it was played a ton and not because it was groundbreaking great, imo. I agree. There is no need to focus so heavily on Adam's sexuality now. I hope they did not get the guy from 20/20 to revisit the subject of his first interview with Adam. That would be disappointing. I don't know a thing about Halsey, but good grief, she's sure got a lot going for her right now! Everything is working all at once. I don't even know what kind of music she sings or if she has a good voice. She obviously has great label and promo support and is doing all the right things. She certainly has the cred to appear on, and host, SNL. But I've seen hosts and musical guests that have a pretty wide range of "cred" on that show, both high and low. So it isn't beyond possible that Adam would get his shot at some point. Hope Shosh's little comment wasn't just empty conversation. And I guess I'm in the small minority who barely noticed and didn't react much at all to Adam's "gesture." I don't think there was a big message behind it. It could have meant, "Hey, don't take my picture," for all we know. I guess I just didn't think it was any big deal. Considering all the lewd, rude and crude stuff that we are faced with so often, I didn't find this one much at all. Halsey is biracial but she looks white. She is bisexual and LGBT advocate but does not treat it as a marketing tool or use it for shock value. She speaks about it when needed and for encouragement sort of like Adam, imo. But she takes issue with stars like Demi and some others who try to use bi as a marketing tool. She said it is not cute and just for fun to the people who live it. And she has called out some of the pop divas for trying to use the community, lol. That makes me like her tho I don't follow her. An okay voice but she gets the radio play and the hits. She has many top 40 hits but considers herself alternative. Please, please let them get Adam on some other charts and not exclusively on pop.

I was grandchildren (3) sitting all day, so I didn't have time to chime in on Adam's Insta, but I was not offended. I'm 64. I am the only female attorney in my 9 attorney office. I drive in heavy traffic at least an hour each way to/from work. Sometimes, that gesture is the best release of frustration. (I know the original had sexual connotations. I didn't get that at all from the pic.)

But in the grand scheme of things, it takes a lot more than a middle finger for me to get offended. JMO. And lurleene, I totally agree that Adam has to get on a few different genre charts other than pop. He's just too good to always get beat out by the pop megas all the time. He could really flourish in some other categories, just like other talented artists have done. With his voice and talent, it's beyond belief that he hasn't reached the top of more charts that match his music and skills. It's been ten years. It's about time he had some more gold and platinum to polish. In an ideal world. being at the top of those charts wouldn't matter much. But in reality, it does matter. It's a tangible, bankable measure of an artist's worth, like it or not. And the marketplace loves that kind of measure. Both Adam as a performer as well as his music are plenty good enough.

Speaking of China, the majority of Shazams for Feel Something are coming from there.

Speaking of China, the majority of Shazams for Feel Something are coming from there. That is interesting. I wonder if after they release Adam's real single that they could come back and re-think releasing "Feel Something" later to radio as a single. I believe it has been done before. Didn't they do something like that with Kelly Clarkson's "Piece By Piece?" It was actually released to radio but it sorta bombed. Then she performed it on Idol and cried during the performance and they re-introduced it to radio. FS just seems such a great song to never get a real chance. For one of his best and most moving songs ever to get thrown out there with no intention of a real push seems odd and disappointing, imo. I understand the need to get something out for the Oscars. But such a beautiful and nomination worthy song still seems wasted as just a teaser. And this time the choices can't be blamed on the label. So I'm going to trust Adam to deliver a single that is great, different and not dance club related, lol.
