His hair, people! How does he get it to stay up?? It's an engineering marvel! I can't get my hair to do anything, let alone add 6 inches to my height while looking healthy and shiny in the process. He could be a spokesperson for whatever product he uses!
Oh, off topic, but a proud parent thing (tie in to Adam - his parents must be so proud...)- We went to the Fillmore in SF last night to see my son's band play - they were great, crowd was great, so much fun! To combine that image with memories of seeing iconic acts there back in the day - wow!

Mys*&@^#r- Thanks for the thought re: the El Rey theater flyer, even if it didn't work out. I am heading out in an hour or so to go see The Dodos at The Fillmore in SF. Two hour drive from here. Trying to catch my son for some visiting before the show starts.
Speaking of parents and musicians - how sweet was Adam to take his dad along to the studio when he was working with Sia!

Hey guys,
I’ve been busy with a project of late and have not had time to check Atop very often. When I do lurk a bit I run out of time before I can post, so I wanted to say a few things-
Thanks to everyone who gathers tweets or quotes articles or posts videos or writes amazing essays or posts! It gives so much enjoyment to everyone. Keeps me coming back for little moments of silliness and heart and talent-watching and aawww. And yesterday to run into Purple Haze/WLL from Cologne – Danke!!!!
Mys*&@^#r and Lynne – much appreciation for your recaps of the Uh Huh Her show!
Lynne – LOL that The Dodos helped you get some cool-cred from your hipster son! I loved the story.
Cheers to several peeps who gave support re: my son’s band – Lynne, Mys*&@^#r, Hoopla (hope that download link worked smoothly…) Gelly, Wal, Kapsiz, Midwifespal, Prism
How lucky Adam is to have all of you amazing fans!!! And how lucky we all are to have his talent and beautiful spirit in our lives. Muah and gratitude to all you guys!
Peace&love

Mys*&@^#r and Lynne,
How great that you went to the UHH concert and got to see Adam as a bonus! Glad to hear UHH was good live. I like their album and wanted to see them in SF, but had a conflict and couldn't go. Thanks for the recaps.
Adam looked great in the photos from the event! Loved the hair-fixing. Love that he goes to events to support (and goof around with) his friends. #goodfriend

Totally off-topic story-
I was at a conference and waiting around between things when I heard two women behind me in conversation about Adam and Kris. (Not trying to start any Adam-Kris stuff, just a funny story...) Anyway, the Kris-fan said something about how if Adam had declined some of the opportunities he was offered early on, and Kris had those opportunities, perhaps it would have helped Kris.
I couldn't keep myself from joining in, so I said how long ago, before anyone had seen the photos, I remember people saying Adam should have turned down the Details photo shoot so Kris could do it. (Proud of myself that I didn't crack up while saying it!!!)
Adam-fan laughed out loud right away, had trouble controlling herself. Kris-fan paused a bit, then laughed as well, and said, "Can't you just imagine what Kris would've looked like in those photos? It would have looked as if the model was forcing him into some on-the-job sexual harassment goin's on." Everyone is laughing so much and having a hard time talking. Adam-fan adds that probably none of the other idols could have made the photo shoot work ~ imagine Gokey! Giggles! Kris-fan responds that, well, maybe Lil or Allison could have been fierce enough to pull it off. ~ So much giggling...
Finally Adam-fan says too bad Alison was too young to do it. ¡ʇsooq ɐ ɹǝǝɹɐɔ ɹǝɥ uǝʌıƃ ǝʌɐɥ plnoɔ
I've been busy on a project and have not been around much, just a little lurking here and there, but had to stop in and tell this story. Made conference waiting-around time so much more fun!

Adding to those I thanked previously - Hoopla and Lynne, thanks for the congrats for my son!
Thinking about Adam writing songs with a variety of people reminds me of an interview I read some time ago with a person (name now forgotten) who does a lot of co-writing of popular songs. This person said that at first the idea of co-writing was a bit off-putting, but that he came to love it. He learned a lot from each co-writer- sometimes word choice, sometimes phrasing, sometimes composition, etc. Over time co-writing taught him to be a better song writer and greatly expanded the skills he brought to the effort. I imagine Adam is loving the process - the creation of individual songs, the learning, and expansion of skills. Go Adam!

Thanks, Mys*&@^#r, Wal, 4Msrmyn, and Gelly for the congrats for my son. And, yes, indie music is very often downloaded from free sites rather than purchased.
Seeing how few albums many of the bands on the Billboard chart have sold sure points out how well Adam is doing. Drives me crazy when some people talk about Adam having disappointing sales because he hasn't sold over a million in the USA. They don't even know what's up with the music industry these days -
