DancyGeorgia Thank you for the post about microphones. I was wondering about that and it was very useful info.

Late to comment, but I loved the interview and mini-concert. I especially loved the bit at the end of the Stranger You Are when he dips down to his low voice. Has he done that before with that song? I looked at the Lives Sessions and he didn't there.

I will always bite when it comes to lyric discussion - my interp is that he is not gonna waste his dreamy high on lounging around or going to sleep - he’s gonna use it to reach another level with a lover. Recurring theme from him, I think, sex as going to another place, a private island, etc. Yup, that was my interpretation too -- and, yes, I would say that is a recurring theme! LOL

I was hoping for Roses, but I love On The Moon, too! And we haven't heard it as much as the others. Very excited to see it! DancyGeorgia, thanks for posting that Velvet Jessie tweet. I really made me chuckle. My DH likes Adam a lot and has been to three QAL shows with me. He hasn't been to a solo show (I go with my friend) but he'd go if I wanted him to. He really respects Adam and he doesn't mind when I tell him things about him. After eleven years, he knows that Adam is not just a fad, and I am not going to just "get over it." LOL Lucky. I haven’t been able to talk about Adam at home for years. Apparently I was “obsessed.” Yup, my hubbie is tolerant, but not particularly interested in my "obsession!" I think he figured out a while ago that it wasn't waning. On the Moon is very vibey -- can't say it's my favourite. I puzzle over the line "Not gonna sleep on it, I'ma put some heat on it." Any thoughts, anybody?

He did express in an IG, an repeat invite for the Mayor of LA, to attend a BLMatter TownHall ---and would the mayor be present, implying he would be there. All I could think of last night...I want him and all others to be safe!! And, he might be best to take a cab, Uber or rent a car chauffeur and not risk his new sports car. My brothers friend was RCMP and for years, drove dignitaries. In retirement he had a limo service for people/ buiness execurives/politicians who wanted more than just a driver. I hired him to drive my elderly neighbours to Banff( resort town) 1.5 hr away for an overnight stay to celebrate her 100 birthday (now 103). They wanted me to drive them. It was a relief to not have the pressure of their safety, and driving there, drop off and do a return pick up the next day. Same for Adam....if he feels confident...he is going to attend. I too hope he and the others stay safe. Well I hope your centenarian friend stayed at the Banff Springs Hotel. I love that hotel!! Adam is smart and he knows how to get out in public incognito. I'm sure he will be careful to be safe.

Yep. I know you, like most of us, get Adam and appreciate his heart. We know his stand against racism and inequality is sincere. All we can do is support him and the cause and hope he is not too hurt by the reactions of some of his fans. I think with all the discrimination he has faced himself, he is really stunned by the attitudes of some of his fans (if they are really his fans tweeting crap to him) who think he should just shut up and say nothing. In my view Adam is a protector - attack him and he doesn't care, attack a friend and his inner pitbull comes out. I've always wanted him to come out swinging on politics but he really never has. He didn't want to get into gay politics other than asking the gay community to be more internally caring, was unfailing polite to the "so you are gay" interviews, really only bared his teeth when people attacked Gigi on his music video. I think some of that can be caution about "making it about himself" so he goes to every pride event asked and takes on the mantel of a gay role model like it was a pair of angel wings. On this issue Adam is the one who says he has a black woman inside him, took 8 black friends on vacation with him, hired black background singers (and always the dancers ), never goes without a person of color in his band. He has always walked the talk and has preferred doing over pontificating over it. A protector goes out of their way to draw fire their way and away from their friends. We don't know what he's seen himself over the years as a club kid or having his friends act as body guards or stories he's heard but this issue is visceral to him. You make a very good point here. I would never had thought about that, but I think you are right! It's not about him, it is about others.

marionm Just thought I would add to my story above about our last provincial election where the LG had to make a decision. The New Democratic Party has a minority government supported by the three Green Party members. They have been pushing for carbon emission reductions. It is going to be interesting to see what happens to the climate change agenda, now that the pandemic has had drastic effects on the economy and the government budget here. It is disheartening that my city got rid of stores handing out single use plastic bags about a year ago and people were getting used to bringing their own. The pandemic reversed all that and there is more and more plastic everywhere. My tiny contribution is that I pick up plastic from the beach on my daily walk.

Haha thanks guys for the kind words!!! happy It depends on the kind of election it is. If it's lokal, regional, or national. Not every party is representet in every election and everywhere, but you can find up to 40 parties on your ballot. That sounds like alot of choice but most of them don't actually have a chance (Unfortunately) and IMO there's not much difference between the handful of big parties. They all take money from Industrie, it's the same broken promises you guys know as well. It's always super frustrating to see how people can be unbelievably stupid and vote for the same shit again and again. To add: No, i don't think you've ever mentioned that about your son. I was born with a heart defect as well (a stenosis in the upper aortha), which was operated at 3 month. One thing Canada did is really tighten up campaign financing at all levels to try to make if fairer. At the federal and provincial levels, a lot of the funding is from the public purse (income tax) and individuals are limited in what they can contribute. There is also a lot of record keeping and transparency. Of course, people are always looking at ways to get around this and have more influence, but I think the legislation really has helped to make a more level playing field and get rid of big money. Also, our election campaigns are a lot shorter than those in the States -- it almost seems they are always in election mode! My son had pulmonary stenosis and had his first surgery at a day and a half. Scary times for new parents!!
