So I guess if enough people talk about a rumour it makes it news...
I totally agree with the Kid Kraddick post in the numbers thread. AI is not just past it's prime, it's on it's very last legs (in its current incarnation) and will be lucky to limp through another season or two with a walking frame and an oxygen mask. Not exactly the kind of thing Adam should be hitching his wagon to. I mean who wants to be the guy on the panel for AIs last season. I can just see the headlines...
But I know I am a minority of one on this topic so I will just ... scroll scroll scroll and watch some more vids.

And I am not arguing about top 40 radio...I am talking about TV ratings. The demographic that watches most broadcast television is not 18 - 35 ....that demo is out in the clubs, cruising in their cars, gaming on the internet or having babies.....we, and the tweens, are the tv watching demo. Idol is a tv show...not a top 40 radio station. Ask any bunch of college kids how much regular tv they watch...you may be surprised. Course, they aren't listening to as much radio as the radio stations would like to believe either but that is another whole story. Someone just claimed that the average age of Idol viewers was 49 and the youngest of these talent show viewers average age was the voice at 43. So for every viewer younger than that, there is another one that is older....that was my point and I stand by it.You're right, the target for radio tends to be a bit younger than for TV (music radio's target tops off at around 35). The most desirable target for TV advertisers is 18-49 year-olds. The higher the ratings among this group, the more a TV network can charge for advertising. So, networks will do whatever they can to maintain or boost ratings among this demographic group. However, there are exceptions: some TV shows or networks, like the CW here in the U.S. , cater to a younger demographic group (18-34). And of course, there are kid-targeted networks. But for the mainstream TV networks in the U.S. (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX), 18-49 is the primary focus. The problem for Idol is that ratings have dropped among 18-49 year-olds in recent years. So, that may lead the producers to consider hiring younger judges for next season in the hopes of attracting more younger viewers. re younger viewers: Do the teens and young 20s still watch TV? -cause I don't see my kids+their friends watch TV with the exception of some sport events. They watch stuff on-line, often well past the time it was on the air. Singing/dancing competitions are totally beneath them BTW, even SYTYCD - which IMO is the best.

I would bet my last dollar Mariah is a shoe in. She's been talking about judging Idol for years.....and I think she'd be great. (In my opinion, way more qualified than JLo).
Interesting that there aren't many male names floating about. Adam might have a chance at this. *crosses fingers*

Hi taumbu!
I'm pretty sure both ST & JLo were either let go (while being able to save face) or had their $$$ lowered enough to discourage them from returning. They certainly didn't increase ratings.
You know bullsfan, with all the fabulous photos circulating of Adam & Queen I still can't bring myself to change my desktop wallpaper from this:
WOW!!! I can't even imagine what he felt performing with Queen, in front of that crowd. Is that the stage in the lower left corner?
