Weekend Rock Question: What Is the 2012 Song of the Summer? Cast your vote in our weekly pollBy Rolling Stone July 13, 2012 3:35 PM ET www.rollingstone.com/music/news/weekend-rock-question-what-is-the-2012-song-of-the-summer-20120713It's technically been summer for slightly less than a month, but in many ways this is really the height of season. After all, school starts again late next month. We figure this is a good time to see what you think is the song of the summer. Is it "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen? "Wide Awake" by Katy Perry? "We Are Young" by Fun.? Maybe you aren't so into the pop thing. Feel free to vote for "Burn It Down" by Linkin Park or "Gold On the Ceiling" by the Black Keys. Basically, any relatively new song on the radio this summer qualifies. You can vote here in the comments, on facebook.com/rollingstone, or on Twitter using the #weekendrock hashtag and we'll turn your top picks into a playlist. What's their twitter address? Do you put #weekendrock at the end of the tweet?

Yesterday was the best day everrr loved spending time with the gorgeous Glamily and the show was above and beyond the best show ever, nothing prepared me for Adam's voice live though, I mean I knew he was the best singer of all time, but I've never heard the voice captured like that in any recording. I just couldn't believe my ears I mean ahskfjsasd and it was fun to hear Queen fans actually gasping when Adam hit a high note. Some of the best high notes I've heard by Adam too, TSMGO, WATC, I was even more awestruck by this beautiful, perfect man than usual. Ans loved hearing the converts afterwards, Queen fans buying TP and berting... heard nothing negative all night. Everyone just glowing in positivity still trying to pick their jaw up from off the floor. Stageshow was so well done too, LOML made me cry Band was flawless, was amazing seeing one of my longtime geetar heroes, and having such fun too. Can't wait to watch it again So glad you enjoy the night and had fun. When he was in AI there's a rumors that AI & Fox had to turn down the volume a bit when Adam was singing, so people at home will not see that his voice's actually so amazing. However, people at the CBS studio said in person Adam's voice 10 times better than what we heard on TV. And we found that out on AI tour and GNT ;D. Queen fans just have to hear him LIVE, and let Adam and his voice convert them .

Looking at the crowd pics brings back something that Roger said during the interview where he, Brian and Adam sat with the translator, "We just had our dress rehearsal in front of hundreds or thousands of people." Adam like gulped and then smiled. It was almost as if he hadn't heard the number said out-loud. Kiev will always be one of the best for me because it was the first, the stream was unexpected and GREAT, I keep hearing about "issues" but honestly I was so honed in on the experience that I STILL don't hear them. The whole moment was just too much to even wish for....

And the band screwed up a few times too - I Want It All where Rog came in too early, and Fat Bottomed Girls when Adam came in too early.... Nothing concert ruining (though TSMGO came close ) but there were definitely hiccups. Much better by London though...

So I guess if enough people talk about a rumour it makes it news... I totally agree with the Kid Kraddick post in the numbers thread. AI is not just past it's prime, it's on it's very last legs (in its current incarnation) and will be lucky to limp through another season or two with a walking frame and an oxygen mask. Not exactly the kind of thing Adam should be hitching his wagon to. I mean who wants to be the guy on the panel for AIs last season. I can just see the headlines... But I know I am a minority of one on this topic so I will just ... scroll scroll scroll and watch some more vids. Bridgey - the thing is the ADAM WANTS IT! that's all that counts IMO. I think what Adam said was (paraphrasing cause can't be bothered going back to find video which has been his only comment) when asked without any time to think about it "sure that would be great, flattered, owe them heaps yada yada" or something like that. But not to quibble fandom has decided this would be great for his career so it must be so. Thankfully there are others around him who can look at the angles and provide him with some perspective as to what hitching his rising star to a falling and failing one might mean. But I'll stay out of it and see what plays out. Latz.

Well it certainly can't hurt. His career right now aint exactly at a sky high(not counting queen) ???

I noticed that Adam started "testing" before almost every song - like a little warm up... I think he does not trust the equipment, because the only way he can get off pitch is by not hearing.... and he keeps "directing" the sound people all the time... I guess it is "normal" dealing with all that electronics...

Where to begin . . . especially when beginnings and endings and in-between end in one destination - Adam! I will never doubt my compass; never question my confused, ecstatic, passionate sense of direction again. Hello Moscow, hello London, hello world - other world! Please understand I've been transported. I check in with Adamtopia to hear 'real' from you, because I'm not here. I can't locate the language. I can't express feelings or hardly state the facts.
'QUEEN and ADAM LAMBERT' glow from the marquee of Hammersmith Apollo, and that marquee sparkled through the window tonight, in a pub whose history began in 1783. (93jsufl'rilr!!p,,!!,! will have to do for now, as I've been captured, enraptured, and I'm wondering how I'll survive one more performance, one more realization, of this dream.
That's my explanation of why I can't explain, if it makes any sense.
Without analysis, I can report a few things -
Audiences have been more men than women. Crowd was a little tentative about Adam on Wednesday, as he began. Thursday, he appeared to thunderous applause! Adam is on pitch. Sometimes the backing vocals, or even Brian's guitar, seemed just a quarter tone low. I wonder if it's because our ears listen to half-note intervals, and Brian can move his instrument's pitch through all ranges of tone. (Cassie?) All were respectful of Adam's family and friends. A few fan photos - when it was time to stop, everyone got the message. Sauli's been reported on. Danielle has lovely streaks in her hair. Eber waved at us! Program is glossy & I think it cost 15 pounds. Official tshirts were selling for 25 pounds each. Outside the venue, vendors had shirts for 10 pounds on Wed., 5 pounds on Thursday. It seemed like one out of five people walking the streets of London's West-end, today, were wearing Queen/Adam clothing! The pyro in the show is HOT in every way. I just bought my first pair of Creepers. I did not hear ONE thing negative about Adam from any Queen fan who saw the show.
I wish that what's inside me could come out; but it isn't time. I have one more experience left to nurture. After tomorrow it may be 'Jack & the Beanstalk' or I may just spew apart - screams, joyful clapping, stomping - it's my personal revival here! - from the explosion of emotions. No matter - I will find my way home. The light of a new star illuminates my path.
