Midweek UK charts again tomorrow. Wonder how NCOE and TP will have held up? Based on NCOE's iTunes performance (see below), I'm guessing that it'll likely be out of top 40 but hopefully staying within top 50 with help of other digital sales (amazon mp3 & hmvdigital, etc.). The album is currently on the edge of top 200 on iTunes, I'm not certain what the iTunes percentage is in overall album sales in UK; but it has been in the top 20 at hmv---the biggest UK retailer, and wavering between 40s and 60s at amazon. I think it all comes down to physical CD sales and how well the stores stock the album, it might still have a chance to hang onto the tail end of top 40. source: downloadcharts.net p.s. NCOE #52 overall & #22 Pop at the moment.

Apparently the HMV Digital sales are a very tiny portion of overall digital sales? #1 on their chart & #52 overall. Wow. Is this more like Amazon digital sales? Why such a huge spread? Hope this isn't a dumb question. ???

Both NCOE and TP out of the top 40 :( Well, without BBC1 playing it was expected, right? Pretty much. It's the only thing in the top 40 they're not playing at all. I think only Capital are playing it.

So did the Queen promo really influence much of anything? I mean, yes, the single and album debuted higher than FYE but that was with an organized global buying campaign and American fans also buying out stock in HMV stores. As soon as the buying campaign stopped, sales started plummeting. Radio 1 seems to want no part of Adam and I think that has everything to do with both singles flopping in the US.
This whole roll-out over the past 6 months just seems to be full of poor choices, poor timing, extremely poor marketing in the US especially. And for an artist who has depended so much on the passion of his fanbase, especially for radio requests, dragging things out for months on end has taken it's toll on the fanbase. We went from single in Sept-Oct 2011, to Nov, then released in Dec during the Christmas freeze with a "WTF" choice of BTIKM at that. Then send him to Europe for promo instead of the US. Wait 2 months to send him out to radio in the US, continue to promote an already dead single, delay the album another 2 months, to add 2 songs that were supposed to be "really great and worth the wait." Pop That Lock is a fun song but never meant for radio. NCOE- majority of fans' response has been "not one of my favorites." As far as the UK, Adam had alot of buzz for his album, last November. But no, let's wait eight months to release an album or a single there.
This whole thing has just been such a disorganized mess. It's no wonder that a lot of fans have just lost enthusiasm, especially when it comes to radio requesting.
