Do you guys think he started the UK ramp-up too soon? British media was literally gushing about Trespassing when he was there in early Spring (was it February?). Where is all the buzz for this album that the UK was falling over months ago? Maybe it's all just screwed-up timing?

Elle Goulding? That's easy! Interscope made some kind of deal. We actually were informally monitoring her chart fall and rise here. Lights was dropping like a lead balloon when BTIKM was rising. It went recurrent the day it was supposed to on HAC. ??? 2 Days later it wasback! We all went "Huh?" Then all of a sudden it started climbing the CHR chart!! It's stuff like this & the Olly Murs/One Direction deal and the Carly Rae/Selena/Justin deal that makes me sad. The one thing they all have in common is that they are NOT RCA. If these other labels can swing deals like that than RCA should be able to. I mean really Olly Murs?? I like the guy but don't tell me this song is current or is what Top 40 is playing. But Z100 is going to make it a hit.

Remember BTIKM in Dec!!!!!!

What does this man? Even Frank Ocean, who kicked Adam's butt at #2,Frank Ocean's the guy who came out as LGBT and got some buzz so they bumped his release up a week early but it's neither here nor there, he pulled it off! Here's the UK album chart that Adam entered at #16. Frank Ocean entered at #2 with 13K. Both entered the same week. I really don't know about UK but I think I read one network is heavy urban - I think the one not spinning Adam? but I'm not sure about that part....so he probably got a ton of press and play from the looks of the sales on the urban singles chart (down below). Generic albums chart: www.officialcharts.com/albums-chart/Some back story analysis of the chart: www.musicweek.com/story.asp?sectioncode=1&storycode=1050399&c=1I don't even see him on the singles chart, where Adam entered at #17.. www.officialcharts.com/singles-chart/He did chart #27 on their urban singles chart. I'm guessing that's where his sales came from in addition to the press like the Russell Simmons stuff. I'm not looking at UK radio so I really don't know about that part. www.officialcharts.com/r-and-b-singles-chart/

How is Olly Murs doing? I don't hear him in Chicago. Is Z100 spinning, or was it just a courtesy add?
RCA has had some trouble---Christina flopped, Averil flopped, Posner's basically flopped, every Idol is struggling apart from Kelly. Maybe this label just can't get it done anymore for the artists that need that extra push.

And I have said this before, but I don't think a formal tour, especially one that would run for months is a wise idea. Adam has no radio presence right now, and no hit this era. His album has not even sold 150K. He will basically disappear and be playing to the same group of fans. It will be interesting to see what happens; I know that last spring Adam did say that they would have to see how well the album sold when thinking about a tour. But Adam also said he's not gonna tour till 2013(probably late spring, or summer) and this era is NOT over yet! Yes, the first 2 singles are doing poorly in sales and on the radio in most markets; and yes, I've said this myself many times, "no airplay, no sales", BUT, radio is NOT the only, or major exposure to music nowadays, the internet is! I know lots of people in RL that only download music for free or just stream online. (and some of them own Adam's music.....piss me off, steal bb's music). I guess what I'm trying to say is Adam is still very much a new artist, despite his success with FYE and his celebrity status, moreover, despite many of us wanted him to become this mega success and 'superstar" right out of the gate, he has a long road ahead to build up his career, especially a career of longevity that he desires. It all goes back to the "basics", as Q3 put it: (if you don't mind me quoting, Q3) " Where does Adam go from here? He does what musicians have done for decades -- on the road, doing concerts and interviews. Performing at festivals and radio concerts. And probably doing some collaborate with Brian May and Roger Taylor. He probably does a big event or two like the AMAs with Queen. And he tours, and gets great reviews and build his reputation and fan base."Except I prefer him doing his own act at AMAs, maybe a closing act with Queen....#greedyfan.

Gush over Adam, get some hits, get some press, maybe spin a little then done. Cracks me up though how some of the people affiliated with the stations tweeting about him are so flaily at the very minute the spins are slowing or non existent. Like the DJ in my home town huge Glambert. No adds or spins for NCOE ever LOL. I'd be embarrassed TTYTT. I'm tweeting her "girl when are the adds coming" - Her: "no idea. FLAIL OMG OMG OMG ADAM ADAM ADAM "

But yeah Z100 was the very first and from what I remember the ONLY add the first week - when they talked about him opening for 1D. They're touring now. www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2167524/X-Factor-star-Olly-Murs-experiences-One-Direction-mania-hand--free-walk-pleases.html

Z100 was the only add for Olly for about 3 weeks. Yes, they are spinning him and he is moving up CHR as other stations are jumping on the bandwagon. I am using my phone right now but when I get back on my computer I can tell you how many stations he has. Swarm, the DJ probably really does love Adam but they can't spin him unless the PD tells them. The days of DJs spinning music or artists they like is long gone :(
