Thank you for saying this! I was going to comment last night, but then thought maybe I was wrong. You are brave for speaking up. I see it and hear it sometimes with Adam, but I don't think it is a big deal. I see the same thing in straight men sometimes as well. One way of "being" isn't better than the other, so I don't ever get what the fuss is all about anyways. Sometimes Adam is feminine, sometimes he is masculine. Whatever.... Men from other countries and cultures seem to embrace a wider range of what is typically seen as "feminine" and "masculine". For the most part, males in the US seem to have a very narrow view on what is acceptable dress and behavior for a man. As a person who was born and raised in the deep south, I would say that view gets even more narrow here in the south. IMO, this stereotype of southern males is what Brad was singing about and believe me- he was right on the mark. Have you ever noticed how the majority of the males in CM all dress the same? The newest members of the country music scene have gone all radical and traded their cowboy hats for ball caps. You won't find someone like Cee Lo Green in country music. Plus, Brad's song was about girlfriends changing their men into meterosexuals and how a good ole country boy wasn't going to go for that. It's a silly song, but it wasn't homophobic. I guess it could be meterosexualphobic. lol

So I guess if he wrote a song saying black people are lazy and just like to sit around eating watermelon and fried chicken, that would be okay because it's just a song and chances are he's just joking, hardee har har har. Sorry, but when someone like Paisley says things--even in a song--that are hurtful and ignorant, it's not up to me to research him and prove he's not a bigot. It's up to him to show that he's not. And he could start by not releasing songs that make fun of specific groups of people. Whoops, too late.
I'm not saying he shouldn't be an Idol judge because of this. Except for Adam, I don't give a fuck who the judges are. And I would hope that if Paisley and Adam are on the judging panel together, Adam could have the effect on him that he had on Michael Sarver: opening his mind and making him less judgmental. I don't believe in ignoring bigotry. I believe in challenging it and trying to eliminate it.

Like they invented a label for guys who are into grooming LMAO

So you've made up your mind that he's a homophobic bigot based on TWO VERSES of a song that's not even about gay men but rather about girls who try to change their boyfriends?
Adam certainly hasn't made some of his fans less judgmental so.....

For a Pop album, yes. Usually Pop albums that are nominated have at least one big hit and have sold much more than TSP. The unspoken rules are different for albums from the Alt. rock or Jazz genres. Sometimes really different albums sneak in, like collaboration or duet albums. I am going to agree with you, tigerlily, to a point. Trespassing has 2 things going for it, that may garner a nomination: 1) It was a #1 Billboard album 2) It made history. First #1 from an openly gay artist. << That is very significant and the Grammy committee just may want to recognize that. With these 2 things and the fact that it is a great album with fabulous reviews, may just make it nomination worthy in their eyes. Plus, if RCA can get their shit together, and get a good single out in the Fall, that gives the album 3 months to pic up steam again before the noms come out! (Yes, I am sometimes delusionally optimistic!) Excellent point! I have also wondered if #2 would somehow play a part in a possible Grammy nomination. I don't really think the BB #1 will matter, except in the context of #2. You never know, right!? Fingers crossed!

I usually have close to zero interest in baby pictures (and I have a hard time understanding all the baby talk in association with A&S - being a couple doesn't mean you HAVE to have kids). But the boys are the cutest ever in this picture! It looks like Adam has shed a few tears and is holding a Kleenex.
