Good grief..when he sees a deer he wants to kill it...likewise a fish...and we wonder why we would expect him to use a gun with violence...remember that a gun has one purpose only...to kill... If these lyrics are just 'fun' and you can't really judge a man by his words, pray tell how we are to recognize danger or love.... So now we're equating the love of hunting and fishing with violence against people? oy vey btw, thanks for this video. That song cracks me up and is SO true...

PredictionIf Adam & Brad Paisley both become Idol judges, there will be a whole new era of Bradam shippers and fanfic porn. I really can't see two young white males getting there...unless they go for four judges... ..so fear not

I was talking to my husband about this. I think AI does spend money on their judges . They want visibility and I think this is another good reason in favor of this endeavor. Notice how well dressed the judges were, they are on talk shows, articles etc. I would expect money and promotion thrown his way should the heaven's declare him a judge. If indeed Adam is in negotiations to become a judge (and I believe he is) then I am certain that what promo he will get and what he wants are part of the negotiations. I have a lot of faith in DMG to do this right! I see what you did there, trying to talk about Adam in the Brad Paisley thread. Later, gators.

Is this really the man of your dreams? honestly...it sure is not mine. He's not the man of my dreams, but when did that become a prerequisite for judging a reality singing show? I'm sure Brad is the man of many country girl's dreams, but I'm not sure why this matters. So, now a hunter or a fisherman is someone who wants to kill other human beings? Okay.... I'll have to tell some of my relatives that they are destined to become cold blooded murderers. Talk about labeling and stereotyping individuals!

Wondering what Paul Rodgers is thinking of the many reviews saying he was a bad fit. I know there are Paul Rodger fans here and not denying the man can sing. But for Queen, IMO, he really was a bad fit. I don't think he was horrible. In fact I'm glad they went that direction first. If they went to someone like Adam first it would have reeked of trying to replace Freddie. Not that Adam is trying to replace Freddie but he does share certain attributes/skillsets. By experimenting with Paul Rodgers it was a nice way to go against the grain. It certainly limited their song choice a bit, but it wasn't bad. I LOVED the QPR show I saw in 2005. He has a very unique voice and it fit what they wanted to do at the time. AND now that they ended it, it made their choice of Adam even better as they seemed to be able to expand out and celebrate their entire history. *shrugs* Just my opinion

I don't know of Paisley and I'm sure not a Paisley apologist. I just don't care about him. He may be a homophobe or not or just singing stupid 'look at me - I'm so macho' and "I got a pair" lyrics. yuk.yuk.yuk. Don't care. I just want Adam on that judges panel. If Paisley is there too, so what. If the devil himself is there too, so what. Adam can charm the bejeebers out of either or both of them.

For what it's worth about the Brad Paisley thing:
I'm not a country music fan at all, but I know of Brad because I like *some* country music and I follow it from the sidelines. He seems like a nice guy, and I saw him host the country awards with Carrie Underwood and I loved his sense of humour.
I was sad to hear about this song, although not surprised. I don't think the song is homophobic or hate speech - these are pretty clearly defined boxes and I don't think the song lyrics fit in them.
However, I do think the song is indicative of a male/female stereotypical delineation that I completely do not agree with, and I think is associated with people having a hard time accepting those that are "different" (i.e. do not fit in the "his is male-like behavior" "this is female-like behavior" boxes). The whole song is trying to make a joke, I get it, and play on the whole "Men are from Mars" and "Women are from Venus" rhetoric. That's fine. But IMO lyrics like "I don't highlight my hair, I've still got a pair" pretty clearly imply that you don't have a pair if you DO highlight your hair. So by those standards, people like Adam are not manly.
I do not want to tell people what to think or how to behave, this is strictly my opinion. Personally, I have a hard time being accepting when people think like this. I still have friends who think like this (hey, I grew up in a pretty macho culture!), and they are good people, I just strongly disagree with this way of seeing the world. JMO.
