If indeed Adam is in negotiations to become a judge (and I believe he is) then I am certain that what promo he will get and what he wants are part of the negotiations. I have a lot of faith in DMG to do this right! I see what you did there, trying to talk about Adam in the Brad Paisley thread.  Later, gators.   :Clap: |

Given that page one of this thread is largely devoted to Adam 's style, I thought I would contribute a bit. A few days ago, someone asked why Adam didn't wear socks with his dress shoes at the Costa Mesa concert last week. Well, according to this NY Times video, stylish young men in NYC shed their socks during the summer. However, they otherwise continue to look sharp and well-dressed -- wearing jackets, ties, etc. So, Adam is, as usual, on trend. He didn't wear socks, but he still wore a fabulous jacket, and kept it on even in the summer heat. ;D video.nytimes.com/video/playlist/style/1194811622321/index.html
If you've ever visited the Sartorialist blog you see that no socks thing all over Europe, too, and those funny pointy toed shoes. Adam's style overall fits right in. Really, more European than US. IMO. But I think the no socks is funny - when I was in college in the east we used to joke about walking five miles thru the snow to school in loafers with no socks - it equaled "dumb". ;DETA: did it in the summer, too, and to be honest, kinda stinky :  |

is it inappropriate to ask if everyone here has always been this evolved in their thinking or is this just since you discovered Adam?
I know some fans say Adam changed their way of thinking so I'm curious about that.
For me I was an advocate for LGBT rights long before Adam and would be still even if I didn't know who Adam was.

Hi!!!! Nica, thanks for your translation of that Russian TV piece--- wow and yay!!! Think of how many new fans Adam has all over the world!!! If he wasn't known before, he is now. If he wasn't respected as a musical presence-- well he certainly is now. I've been away so long and missed so much I can't even attempt to catch up. But glad I stumbled back today to catch that little gem. And--Adam on Idol? If he gets it the entire country will have a living, breathing, gorgeous gay man to fall in love with. One who is his own man, who refuses to buckle to expectations or stereotypes. What a lesson that will be for our poor, divided, confused and yet increasingly-open-to-change country. Of course, all that deep stuff is great and all.. But I'll just want to lick the TV every week. I really can't see two young white males getting there...unless they go for four judges... ..so fear not I agree! They will want someone of color on the panel. Mariah doesn't count. I've wondered about this. Mariah's father was African American and she has won awards from the NAACP. I'm not sure if that would be "enough diversity" for AI. Who knows what they are thinking, but I'm sure hoping it all works in Adam's favor! |
