It's cool! It means it is the 10th most requested song in Dance Clubs! Which probably means that if it had been played in a higher rotation (power rotation) at most radio stations, it would indeed have caught on. :-/ So the "it's the song, it's just not catching on with people" is being revised to it wasn't played enough to seep into people's consciousness. This is how I've always felt. Not going to beat a dead horse, but even the few times Q102 played it in prime time (according to others as I never heard it) was never enough to make an impact with listeners. Proof is that Home song that people are hearing over & over at the Olympics and zoomed up the iTunes chart. Repetition is the key imo. Exactly. Listen to radio - even the cruddiest songs, if played often enough, will "seep into people's consciousness." NCOE has not been given that chance. :-/

Repetition is the key, jazzrocks. And yes, the dance chart move is the most evidence we have that if played enough, it might have caught on. And what is wrong with me?! I hate that song HOME! The "Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah" part makes me want to hit something!! I guess I am just a Pop girl!

I don't hate "Home". I just never remember it after I hear it. Not catchy at all imo. Btw - Z apparently played it this morning. Because of #1 on iTunes I imagine. Gonna take off on pop radio now. Fuck.
And I don't agree that a success for P2 (or any other Idol) will necessarily help Adam. It may even hurt him. There's only so much room on radio for past Idols apparently. And much as I hate that he's still considered "Idol", he is.

Just goes to show you what can happen with the right break -- song played several times during the Olympics > #1 on Itunes > played on Z100 this morning (actually asking for feedback thru twitter). I'm hoping for the use of Runnin' during the track events.

I'm hoping for the use of Runnin' during the track events. It's not a released single and really except for the words, "Runnin, runnin" I don't think the lyrics fit at all. I am usually a "dream big' type of person, but I don't see this happeneing at all.

Just about any song if it was force-fed 24/7 on the airwave, you would find yourself humming to it in a car after a while which you thought was a piece of crap initially...I've done it many times and even scarier, downloaded too.
IMO, NCOE did get a chance just not that kind of chance; if radio could get me to eventually buy a "crappy" song, I have no doubt the odds with a good song like NCOE would be much higher. While it's a good song, for Bruno (a really big miscalculation on RCA's part trying to sway radio with this association and messed up the promo timing in doing so), it does not represent the Trespassing album at all, or Adam's new sound! I'll always love & support whatever Adam does 'cuz I am a fan, but this is one of the few songs that I often skip on my playlist.

Saw this at MJs:
Someone at UK Mix posted a list of the most streamed songs. People complain about radio stations playing the same songs all of the time, but the top of the list looks just like the mediabase and Billboard Pop and Hot AC chart.
1 2 21 Call Me Maybe, Carly Rae Jepsen
2 1 21 Lights, Ellie Goulding
3 3 14 Payphone, Maroon 5 Featuring Wiz Khalifa
4 4 21 Somebody That I Used To Know, Gotye Featuring Kimbra
5 5 21 We Are Young, fun. Featuring Janelle Monae
6 8 4 Whistle, Flo Rida
7 7 14 Mercy, Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T, 2 Chainz
8 6 7 Wide Awake, Katy Perry
9 9 21 Some Nights, fun.
10 10 11 Titanium, David Guetta Featuring Sia
11 13 17 Boyfriend, Justin Bieber
12 17 2 Thinkin Bout You, Frank Ocean
13 18 18 The Motto, Drake Featuring Lil Wayne
14 12 20 What Makes You Beautiful, One Direction
15 16 21 Feel So Close, Calvin Harris
16 11 21 Wild Ones, Flo Rida Featuring Sia
17 15 21 Starships, Nicki Minaj
18 19 9 No Lie, 2 Chainz Featuring Drake
19 14 21 Glad You Came, The Wanted
20 22 21 Midnight City, M83.
21 20 10 Where Have You Been, Rihanna
22 25 15 I Won't Give Up, Jason Mraz
23 27 9 Everybody Talks, Neon Trees
24 23 10 Scream, Usher
25 24 20 Drive By, Train
This tells me that all those "teens who never listen to radio because they listen to Spotify, etc." are basically listening to the same songs that are being played on radio. The only real difference is that there are a couple of more hardcore Hiphop songs thrown in the mix on this list.
I guess people who prefer streaming instead of radio like Call me Maybe as much as radio listeners. LOL

maybe me? it is not in the overall radio chart Top 100, because youth radio (comparable to CHR) is much more powerfull and NCOE seems to have nearly no spins there (you can only see the Top 50 and it is not on there). But nevertheless it is nice to see that the song keeps moving up on the mainstream chart. It looks like the oficial release of the single has been push back till now. 6/8 the hard disc version of the single should be released but has been cancelled. I thought back then the reason was that there was not enough interest to release the cd but not that the whole release could be pushed back. (though it doesn't look like there will be a cd now, but UK hasn't got the cd too, right?) Suddenly two month later there is more radio play and the mv finally has premiere on TV. I hope there will be promo here. Many shows are coming back from summer break at the end of August, so a little visit here after Australia would be nice, right? ;D mys*&@^#r50: i've heard somewhere Germany is one of the Top 5 music markets in the world.
