Just about any song if it was force-fed 24/7 on the airwave, you would find yourself humming to it in a car after a while which you thought was a piece of crap initially...I've done it many times and even scarier, downloaded too. IMO, NCOE did get a chance just not that kind of chance; if radio could get me to eventually buy a "crappy" song, I have no doubt the odds with a good song like NCOE would be much higher. While it's a good song, for Bruno (a really big miscalculation on RCA's part trying to sway radio with this association and messed up the promo timing in doing so), it does not represent the Trespassing album at all, or Adam's new sound! I'll always love & support whatever Adam does 'cuz I am a fan, but this is one of the few songs that I often skip on my playlist. Amen, look what radio did for that Katy Perry song, Wide Awake. Didn't initially fly up the sales charts like her other songs did, but radio kept playing it, and it went to #1. And I've just gotta hand it to Interscope. Getting that Home song on NBC during the Olympics was genius. It was slowly crawling up the airplay chart but getting it on nightly TV shot it to #1 on iTunes. RCA is one of the piss poorest labels I've seen as far as marketing their products. What was the point of investing money in top-notch producers and songwriters if they're not going to market and promote these songs properly? There seems to be no innovation or thinking outside the box at RCA. If Interscope can make Scotty McCreery into a star and platinum selling artist and have Phillip Phillips well on his way to a platinum single, and for some reason RCA can't do the same with Adam, RCA is the problem. After 2-3 years of poor selling Idol winners in a row, Interscope can all of a sudden swoop in there and produce hits for their winners? RCA just stopped trying somewhere along the way.

maybe me? it is not in the overall radio chart Top 100, because youth radio (comparable to CHR) is much more powerfull and NCOE seems to have nearly no spins there (you can only see the Top 50 and it is not on there). But nevertheless it is nice to see that the song keeps moving up on the mainstream chart. It looks like the oficial release of the single has been push back till now. 6/8 the hard disc version of the single should be released but has been cancelled. I thought back then the reason was that there was not enough interest to release the cd but not that the whole release could be pushed back. (though it doesn't look like there will be a cd now, but UK hasn't got the cd too, right?) Suddenly two month later there is more radio play and the mv finally has premiere on TV. I hope there will be promo here. Many shows are coming back from summer break at the end of August, so a little visit here after Australia would be nice, right? ;D mys*&@^#r50: i've heard somewhere Germany is one of the Top 5 music markets in the world. Sounds like your mainstream chart is equivalent of our HAC chart here. JMHO, there might not be an official release of NCOE in Germany since RCA is gearing up for the 3rd single now...can't imagine Adam going back to UK to promote the new single then the "old" one in Germany. NCOE is likely being served as a time-filler right now but nice to see it finally gain some AirPlay. The top 5 music markets in the world are US, Japan, Germany, UK and France.

That's what I was going to guess, that the Mainstream is like our HAC.

Repetition is the key, jazzrocks. And yes, the dance chart move is the most evidence we have that if played enough, it might have caught on. And what is wrong with me?! I hate that song HOME! The "Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah" part makes me want to hit something!! I guess I am just a Pop girl! Just goes to show you what can happen with the right break -- song played several times during the Olympics > #1 on Itunes > played on Z100 this morning (actually asking for feedback thru twitter). I'm hoping for the use of Runnin' during the track events. I think the most most suitable for a sports event like the Olympics is NCOE. The message of it fits so perfectly and is more upbeat than Runnin'.

Could be a time-filler but I think it depends on when he will go (if he goes) to Germany, when the new single will actually be released and what kind of promo is planned (TV vs radio). And why would they bother releasing (or whatever is happening, because it is still not officially released) NCOE now, if they plan to release a new single a few weeks later? Hardly anyone knew about the song till a few weeks ago and they could have released the new single as the lead (BTIKM was released only as a title-track of a movie, not as a single). IDK I just hope there is a plan. :-/ I would say if he comes to Germany early September or before, he will do promo for NCOE. It would be a really good timing for TV promo. And I also think that Germany will get the new song later. But who knows.

No numbers but Trespassing is still on the Top Current Albums chart this week and NCOE still moving up on Dance chart. Top Current Albums 174 151 11 Trespassing, Adam Lambert NCOE Hot Dance Club Play 14 18 6 Never Close Our Eyes, Adam Lambert Since the actuall BB posting on their web site runs a week behind, I think those are from last week's numbers. I didn't get these numbers from the billboard site. These are the chart positions for Billboard chart week 2012/08/11 which is sales week ending 2012/07/29. The Dance Club Play chart is shifted from the sales charts and probably runs Wed-Tues because that chart info twitter always tweets the update on Wednesday. The position for Top Current albums is week 11 which is the latest and the week Trespassing dropped off of the Billboard 200. It is almost always higher than the BB200 position because there are anywhere from 20-30 catalog albums on the chart any given week.

So, BTIKM was served only as a movie title track, and never officially released as a single in Germany, neither has NCOE. Thanks for the confirmation, aralid! Gotta say it's so nice to have our int'l peeps to step in with the low-down from time to time, now, can we make that at least a quarterly report! ;D #iwantitall #greedyme
I agreed with you, aralid, it will depend on several factors, especially somehow NCOE manages to take off on the "mainstream chart" then cross over to the Pop. It's not uncommon to have different singles at the same time across different regions.
TSP was released on July 16th in France, wonder if there's a single being serviced to the radio or officially released for purchase there....my guess is probably NOT! if that's the case, I'm soooo OKAY with that; now, they can have the new single right from the start!

I don't hate "Home". I just never remember it after I hear it. Not catchy at all imo. Btw - Z apparently played it this morning. Because of #1 on iTunes I imagine. Gonna take off on pop radio now. Fuck. And I don't agree that a success for P2 (or any other Idol) will necessarily help Adam. It may even hurt him. There's only so much room on radio for past Idols apparently. And much as I hate that he's still considered "Idol", he is. they have a "theme" song on NBC? really? I am watching every evening and haven't noticed it even once... in a way I am happy, cause it means I haven't changed that much ;D
