You're forgetting though that JLo has been selling a ton of singles. And she is not an album-seller (dance-type music), she fits more in the single-selling bucket at this point. I would say Idol definitely helped her single "On the floor" to take off. JLo is also touring very successfully right now. Not sure she could have done this, on the same scale, 2-3 years ago, without the fame and spotlight that Idol brought her. Do I think Adam would be ok WITHOUT Idol? ABSOLUTELY. Do I think getting on Idol would help Adam's sales, touring, and overall notoriety? YES. I think it would be hard to argue otherwise. Gotta agree with you Life Traveler. The album that just bombed for JLo is essentially supposed to be a "Greatest Hits" album. Her singles, though have sold millions. On the Floor 3.5 million in the US alone. It was her biggest debuting single ever. She even had one with Piutbull, previously, that did not do as well. Idol definitely jumpstarted JLo's musical comeback. And considering how many people bought WWFM, after Adam performed it on Idol, I'd have to say, If it's the right song, the Idol audience will buy! There are pros and cons on both sides... but the one side we have not talked about is viewership OUTSIDE the us. Plenty of folks outside the US follow AI. Having a role on AI may not impact him that much for the US (debatable).... I think however it would raise his profile internationally.

Agree. There is no down side to this (except I will have to watch the show ;D). It's a WIN/WIN. And, as you said, HE wants it. So - no brainer for me. Adam would do a great job, it would be fun, the public would get to see more sides to his personality, but like you, the bottom line is that he would like to do it. If Adam is not the one, Brad Paisley might do a good job. He's really funny, irreverent about certain issues, and seemingly a nice guy. I have been totally out of touch with country music for a few years now, never was a big fan, but compared to some of the names being bandied about, BP is a good choice. I really can't care less who is on there if Adam is not on. Have not watched since AI8 and have no plans to do so... I can't watch ANY singing competition for that matter... (I hope Adam does not start dancing or he might spoil those for me as well... ;D}

Q3 said: IF Adam's single sales had soared after all of his Idol performances, I would be on the Adam as judge = increased sales.
Being a judge week in week out is very different than singing one song during performance night. I agree, this doesn't sell many singles. I think one of the reason WWFM did so well after his Idol performance is that it was on the week that he got to be mentor. People got to see how nice and intelligent he is. It was more than just a quick performance spot and more like the judgeship. The judgeship would be even more potent since it would be on going throughout the season.

Is David Arnold British? If so, was he at any of the QAL London concerts?

I've never an article like the one you say, sorry I have no idea!! ETA Oh good your question has been answered! Last rumor I heard was Adele was doing it.. but who knows, eh? my gut feeling is that Queen will be defaulting to Adam as long as Adam can do it...regardless of what that is...so, unless the Bond song has already been recorded - it will be Adam.... Vocally - neither LG nor Adele are even close to Adam.
