You know what, though? I don't like to be told what to do, not even by Adam, or Adam's self-appointed spokesperson. My feelings about the CB vs. AMA situation feel valid to me and if I want to let ABC know how I feel, I'm going to do it, as an individual, not as a representative of Adam's fan base. Sorry, Ed. Somebody has to say it. Don't you mean that you came for the apple pie? That is the point. If you feel so moved by all means protest, as yourself. But not under a banner of a Glambert campaign (and yes there is a petition floating around). Protesting as Glambert69 just makes ppl roll their eyes. Adam doesn't need that. That was Ed's point, that's all. But Ed clearly says that Adam would tell us to let bygones be bygones. That sounds to me as if he's telling us all to just drop it. I've made my statement to ABC and certainly don't plan on saying anything more at this point, but if there are further developments--hell, yeah, I'm going to say something. To me this still represents an important and ongoing issue and it's not merely a "bygone."

NoAngel Fantastic essay, NoAngel, as usual. I have a confession to make, though. Unfortunately, thanks to three major factors (one of which is Adam) in my life I have become gradually less involved. I had been very active on political blogs since 2002/2003. I spent countless hours reading and engaging on the most prominent progressive blogs. But eight years of Bush and then the election of Obama (huge relief) finally did me in. I got totally burned out. Then a couple of months later, Adam came into my life. A new and fun obsession. I mostly lurked on MJ's. I followed the Idol tour there. Halfway through the tour I got pregnant. My baby boy and his big sister take up most of my RL. What free time I have I spend stanning Adam. I really enjoy all the far reaching discussions and it actually might rekindle my interest in politics but I am not there yet. My hubby is very political and tries to make dinner conversation about current events and I am like 'Um, I've seen the headline but I haven't read the article.' I am ashamed to admit how many times I have uttered that sentence. Now, that I am on twitter I see many links to my favorite bloggers/writers I recognize from many years ago. I might actually go down the rabbithole again. The political one. Oh, boy. :

So it seems Adam wasn't at Perez's birthday party after all, right?

Good morning! NoAngel, LOVED your essay as usual, particularly this:
So true. So many of the significant movements throughout history start as grassroots and we live in a time where change can happen at the speed of light because communication does. We may get frustrated that it's not happening quickly enough (it's never too soon for a true injustice to end), but it's because we are in it and don't have the ability to see it in the context of history, because they issues haven't yet fully played out.
That last line gave me chills.
Q3 thanks for the breakdown. The whole situation still confuses me, but I think I have more of a grasp on it now. Would love professional recordings of the CV songs. The only thing is, you have that Monte and Adam met on Dec. 15, 2005; it was 2004. I don't know how that affects the correlation of the other dates. For instance, if CV was formed in 2006, was that then a delay of a year? Thanks!!
Q3 comment: Late nite typo -- fixing now! Thanks!

Just a thought.. If Adam fans are perceived as gunning for Chris Brown, what's to prevent Chris Brown's fans from gunning for Adam??So I agree ,if some one wants to protest the inequities of ABC then maybe it would be great as an ABC potential viewer, rather than an adam Lambert fan.. Just sayin.. IMHO there are enough fan clubs at each other's throats.

My level of involvement in activism and politics has ebbed and flowed throughout my adult life and yes, I can completely relate to burning out. So much emotional investment, frustration and endless disagreements are draining. Call it battle fatigue. Usually my periods of involvement were followed by completely disengaging for awhile. (I internalize emotional conflict, so it gets to be too much.) Hopefully, you're doing what feels right for you and your young children at this point in time. The fire is still there, just set on low for now. (Take these non-election years as a gift ) ETA2: LOL, oops, I guess I hit quote instead of modify; didn't mean to quote myself. Wondered where my modification went ... : :
