I'm in! It can't hurt to let Idol know that we're excited about the possibility.Count me OUT!! I find this stuff embarrassing and close to begging. Sorry but that's MHO. Lythgoe already said the fan base is too heavy handed and it doesn't help matters. A twitter trend won't help anything but it sure looks silly when Jonas gets it. I'm sure they've made up their mind by now. Last time when Tyler and JLo got the job rumors abounded several weeks before. Just like they are doing for Jonas and Paisley or Pharrell. Adam said he's never been approached and everyone is reading something into every word he says just like they did with the Olympics right to the point where some where tweeting shoshanna and asking why she was lying about it. Adam has a new single to promote and that's probably what is filling his September. I hope it's not Idol. But it's really unlikely anyway. Idol seems to attract the wrong kind of fans. It doesn't attract music people but TV watchers and based on some places I've seen on line some really scary type of people. Adam is constantly having to live down the fact he comes from Idol. He doesn't get taken seriously because of it. To have him on the judges panel puts him right back there. I'd rather see him do a guest appearance and radio promotion for his new single. Plus I don't want to have to watch the stupid show. >:( He will always be linked with Idol and he doesn't mind.

I agree it's embarrassing and orgainzed trends usually don't work anyway. Whatever is up with Idol has already been decided I'm sure. Maybe Adam got it and like the Queen gigs can't say anything OR maybe they never talked to him and like he said he hasn't heard anything. Time will tell but no amount of fan "push" is going to make them hire him for the job. Of course organized trends work sometimes LOL. A couple of weeks ago a trend organized by a Russian/Eastern European fan group trended on twitter for longer than two hours. It was "WeWantTrespassingTour" or something like that. Also, just to clarify, nobody believes that us doing this will get him the job or anything. I know we are delusional but we've got our limits LOL It's just a way to show support and enthusiasm for this, either if he does, or does not get it. Labels (as any other public organization) definitely monitor trends on twitter as one of the many measures of public visibility and popularity. This is why Shoshanna re-tweets many of the "Adam is a trending topic" tweets. And the fact that his name trended worldwide on twitter after the Graham Norton show in the UK was included in an official press release. Having visibility IMO can't hurt any artist. Then again, YMMV, etc etc so I'm not telling anyone what to think or do, just wanted to put it out there. I know people have strong feelings about Idol hehe. I believe when someone said "organized trends don't work" they were not saying it's not possible to trend something if you do it in an organized fashion. But they are saying that a trend saying Adam on Idol won't get him a job on Idol. I'm not trying to put words in their mouth but that was my impression. There is also a difference between a spontaneous trend that Shoshanna may retweet and an "organized" one like AdamonIdol which quite frankly is embarrassing. It serves no purpose and already Lythgoe has voiced his displeasure. Coming off a cray or BSC aren't cute or endearing fanbase qualities. I'm just voicing my opinion and won't participate but twitter is a free place. Adam has always been grateful to Idol and likes to go on the show which is great. I'm just saying a trend like this doesn't help & is awkward. But break a leg. Have at it

What am I missing? Did Adam actually say that he was never approached by Idol? Is this recent? I really don't think he has it, but if he actually came out and said this then it would seem Idol wasn't ever in play.
In any event, Idol must have picked the judges by now. I think it might be too late to worry about trying to trend something.

Can you imagine if Adam a) posed in those grotesque pants in public? and b) posted it himself on his own twitter account? and, finally, c) NOBODY noticed?? LOL forever! There is somebody known to everyone on this board who once noted that Kris could run nakkid through Hollywood and the media reports the next day would read: "Naked man found running through Adam Lambert's neighborhood." I guess Q3, you were proven right. As far as the twitter campain, I agree that it is counterproductive at this point. a) there is not one person in AI management who is not aware that most Adam fans want this for Adam. Nigel has made this very clear, if it was not already. b) there is not one person in AI management who does not know that Glamberts are capable of starting global as well as national twitter trends and are bound to do it weekly, if they put Adam into that chair. c) If anything they probably are not looking forward to Glambert driven voting campaigns for one contestant or the other, always in support of Adam, supposedly. This stuff can be very much not helpful. I'm going to pass on this campaign, even though I very much hope that Adam's wish regarding this comes true. And I will just wait this one out

I'm sure you all are right. She's just pointing out that most men who sing that high had their balls cut off first, as a historical point of interest. Such a beautiful artform. You know, they probably sing even higher while they are being cut off and Adam probably sings that high too. But writing that might be a tad untasteful. note: dripping sarcasm ;D

I'm going to say two last things about the Idol thing, just as points of clarification:
1) Nigel bitched about the fans because people were tweeting to him directly, which is very different from when something is trending (because if you tweet to him directly it floods his "inbox" so to speak)
2) Not sure Nigel has a lot to say in the matter anyways. He himself has not been signed on to a new Idol season yet, according to yesterday's article which had an interview with him (NY Daily News I believe? would have to dig it up, but it was posted here).

Looks like it’s my day to be disagreeable. Without doing a survey (lol), I don’t think I’d be prepared to agree that “most” of us here found Adam on idol and are still Idol watchers. Adam came to my attention because of Idol , but I never watched it during his season (I didn’t find out about him until the finale night), don’t now, and probably won’t even if he gets the gig. I don’t care for the show, frankly, and don’t have a whole lot of respect for the judges. I’ve stayed completely out of the AI judge discussion because I’m really conflicted about it. In for a penny, in for a pound. Even if I was 100% sure I want him at the AI judge table, I’d respectfully decline from the twitter trending attempt. I do agree that social media trending has a positive impact on many things, and absolutely increases an artist’s overall visibility . But I am of the camp who feels this trend will have no impact on the DECISION to be made around who sits at the AI judges table. Right. I’ll just take my contrary self offline now.

I think either Idol will pick him because fans will watch and drive up the ratings or they do not want to deal with glamberts and move on to Jonas.

Adam won't drive up the ratings because as a lot have stated above his fans are Idol watchers anyway and already watch the show. I would suspect they are looking to bring in additional fans.
