The last season of Idol that was an interesting competition/race was AI8. Since then, it has just been no contest. BORING. Did anyone really doubt that P2 would win this year? Kris, Lee, Scotty, P2 -- the string of boring winners is a huge problem. I wish this was over. The curse of Kristy Lee Cook has been completed. We are entering a new era.

I think the seating arrangement will be Mariah on the left (in Randy's spot from last year), then Adam, then Nicki, and Keith on the other end.
Forget to say before, great posts schufly and midwifespal!

I really want Adam to get the judging job, however I just can't assume that he already has it. When people refer to things happening prior to it happening, I have terrible flashbacks to 2007 of the local new anchor referring to OSU beating Florida in the national championship ("When OSU beats the Gators...") and then guess what, Florida beat OSU. But I definitely think that there is something happening for Adam. I hear you. I have everything crossed that can be crossed that he gets it, but I'm not quite ready to break out the big SQUEE'S just yet.

OK....IF....and more speculation that he has this......what will the seating from left to right be with this line-up? KU-MC-AL-NM ? Lots of pretty! I want Adam between the two girls. We could play a game guessing how many times they will touch him. I know Adam likes to recycle clothes but I want him to have a new outfit every week IF he gets the job. Half the fun of Idol was what would Adam wear. Is there any buzz of a format change for Idol? Well IF he gets the job with the money he's gonna get I'm sure we'll see a different outfit every week. After all....

I hope she's not engaged to someone named Phil or Phillips. I think a couple of rule changes might help abate the WGWG situation. Mys*&@^#r suggested no instruments until the very end, which I think is a good idea. Also, hopefully the producers will go out of their way to cast more dynamic types. I hope they let more musical theater people in who they usually scorn, but they're far more entertaining and look how well they did when they finally relented and let Adam in? Loved your posts too, schufly and MWP!!

If Adam get Idol -- he will get a wardrobe allowance!! That could be the best part of the show -- watching what Adam wears.
The only talk about an Idol format change is to go back to 4 judges (like the Voice and XFactor) and hints of doing something different with mentors. Oh, and the obligatory promise from FOX Entertainment that they have great contestants.
I want them to ban guitars.

Here's my theory. Do you know how in sports, teams sometimes take out an option on a player? Or in publishing, a publisher may take out an option on an author's upcoming book? I think Idol took out an option on Adam as a judge back in July.
They said, "yes, we are interested in you. We want you for a judge. But we are just at the beginning of putting this team together, at the beginning of reformatting the show, so things are still fluid and may change. It might not ultimately work out. So, let's negotiate. We will pay you $3 million a year if you end up judging for us. You keep your schedule open on these dates to be available to judge. But, if we end up going another way and don't use you, we pay you one quarter of your salary anyway, or $750,000 just to keep our options open.
"In the mean time, while things are in flux, you are under a gag order and cannot discuss Idol. You can talk to other producers and promoters about other jobs during these dates, but you cannot make a commitment to anyone or book jobs until either a) Sept 1, or b) we release you from your contract option with us. "
I think that fits everything that has happened. For that chunk of change and the possibility/probability of being a judge, Adam would agree to keep his schedule free and not talk about it. He can truthfully say he doesn't know anything and hasn't been offered the job. He can be very happy at this win-win situation with a big payout and lots of publicity to go along with it, regardless of which outcome happens.
As to whether they are exercising their option to hire him as judge now, I don't know. But, he is returning to Hollywood just in time for the announcements. Hmmmmm.

I have been side-eying everyone about the AI speculation all along. It's easy to read what you want to out of stuff, and an empty schedule just wasn't enough for me. And it has taken a long time for me to even accept the fact that the exposure is worth giving up my hope that he could shake the Idol association. But last night changed that. Renya's (?) Tweet confirming there are performances coming up did it for me. I can't come up with any other reason the would have performances lined up that they would keep secret. And the Idol follow...he knew we would freak at. Unless he and Shosh are trying to impress Idol with the buzz he can create (and I cannot believe Idol would make such huge plans at the last minute.) then maybe this is Adam's way of saying something without saying something. I am now allowing myself to picture the introduction they will give him. They will make him sound as successful as they can, for his success is their success. And you can bet they will highlight Q+AL. I totally hope they have the judges sing like xfactor does because, really, that would be thd hardest part-having him there but not singing. Course he will make the contestance look bad but it's all about ratings right? And the best part is that if the public gets to know Adam they will fall in love with him. They will realize that despite their ignorant assumptions based on him not filling mainstream male role expectations, that he is normal, glowing with love and undenyably sexy. Course the haters will be on full force but he will impress the millions of viewers. Can you tell I am bubbling over with surpressed sqeeeeeeeee? The Reyna tweets were in part about the concert in Australia on October 13, 2012 -- Sue Ottinger Bullockþ@SuesArtistry @rainonme83 I was assuming you meant with Adam, but do you mean with other bands/singers too? Reyna þ@RainOnMe83 @suesartistry no with him Sue Ottinger Bullock @suesartistry @rainonme83 Where are some of the places you're going? Will you get to go to Australia next time? Reyna @rainonme83 @suesartistry yep we will IF Adam gets Idol, he will have a break for Oct-December and will clearly be back in Australia and is doing Napa, and the Arizona State Fair. So looks like they will do some one off concerts in October. When they fly to Australia, they could easily do some more events. ETA: Add to the clues about Idol column -- Katy Perry's management was in talks with Idol about being a judge in early July. Now TMZ says Idol tried to get her for a long time -- that means they were talking to DMG. Makes it really possible that DMG and Idol started talking about the possibility of one of their either clients being an Idol judge. The Adam rumor broke on July 9, 2012 -- so the timing works. I think her tweets are talking about multiple (undisclosed) events. Yeah, I guess she could be all excited about australia months from now but she just came back from japan so I don't think Az orNapa could be what she is excited about. I have been my own voice of reason until now. Now I am gonna get my hopes up .
