The Reyna tweets were in part about the concert in Australia on October 13, 2012 -- Sue Ottinger Bullockþ@SuesArtistry @rainonme83 I was assuming you meant with Adam, but do you mean with other bands/singers too? Reyna þ@RainOnMe83 @suesartistry no with him Sue Ottinger Bullock @suesartistry @rainonme83 Where are some of the places you're going? Will you get to go to Australia next time? Reyna @rainonme83 @suesartistry yep we will IF Adam gets Idol, he will have a break for Oct-December and will clearly be back in Australia and is doing Napa, and the Arizona State Fair. So looks like they will do some one off concerts in October. When they fly to Australia, they could easily do some more events. ETA: Add to the clues about Idol column -- Katy Perry's management was in talks with Idol about being a judge in early July. Now TMZ says Idol tried to get her for a long time -- that means they were talking to DMG. Makes it really possible that DMG and Idol started talking about the possibility of one of their either clients being an Idol judge. The Adam rumor broke on July 9, 2012 -- so the timing works. I think her tweets are talking about multiple (undisclosed) events. Yeah, I guess she could be all excited about australia months from now but she just came back from japan so I don't think Az orNapa could be what she is excited about. I have been my own voice of reason until now. I am gonna get my hopes up now. Australia is NOT MONTHS FROM NOW. They are going in October!

Just looking at everything as a clue, one could say that Adam twitter-raving about Tina's new song, but not Mariah's, is a clue that he didn't get Idol. Tina is, after all, Mariah's counterpart on the rival show THE VOICE.
Or maybe Adam is just doing a fake-out. Or maybe Adam is like a lot us who appreciate Mariah but think Mariah guesting on her own single is a comedown, not a comeback.

Reyna's tweets would indicate to me that there are some yet to be id'd concerts in the offing, or maybe Australia in the fall, but nothing to do with Idol. I hope all of you who believe in the Idol gig are not disappointed, but I'm not placing any bets. Not long tho til all is revealed and the agony ends. :-p

Here's my theory. Do you know how in sports, teams sometimes take out an option on a player? Or in publishing, a publisher may take out an option on an author's upcoming book? I think Idol took out an option on Adam as a judge back in July. They said, "yes, we are interested in you. We want you for a judge. But we are just at the beginning of putting this team together, at the beginning of reformatting the show, so things are still fluid and may change. It might not ultimately work out. So, let's negotiate. We will pay you $3 million a year if you end up judging for us. You keep your schedule open on these dates to be available to judge. But, if we end up going another way and don't use you, we pay you one quarter of your salary anyway, or $750,000 just to keep our options open. "In the mean time, while things are in flux, you are under a gag order and cannot discuss Idol. You can talk to other producers and promoters about other jobs during these dates, but you cannot make a commitment to anyone or book jobs until either a) Sept 1, or b) we release you from your contract option with us. " I think that fits everything that has happened. For that chunk of change and the possibility/probability of being a judge, Adam would agree to keep his schedule free and not talk about it. He can truthfully say he doesn't know anything and hasn't been offered the job. He can be very happy at this win-win situation with a big payout and lots of publicity to go along with it, regardless of which outcome happens. As to whether they are exercising their option to hire him as judge now, I don't know. But, he is returning to Hollywood just in time for the announcements. Hmmmmm. Nah, Idol is in the driver's seat. They offered Katy Perry 20 million dollars AFTER they already had Mariah for 18 million. They have plenty of options so they don't have to "reserve" anyone. If artist #1 or #2 doesn't want to agree to their terms, they have plenty of others waiting in the wings. Their BIG get was Mariah and then Nicki next. From that point, it was about filling certain roles, gender and race balance and judging chemistry. Adam's calender is "empty" for a reason. It may or may not be for the Idol job, but Idol didn't pay him to keep it open.

I feel like it took me this long to get to this opinion and now i'm being talked out of it. Only I don't care what anyone else thinks. All opinions are valid and defendable. I stand by my sqeee.

But we know Adam is playing in Australia.

But I think Katy Perry discussions were going on in June, before they had Mariah signed. I want Adam between the two girls. We could play a game guessing how many times they will touch him. That sounds crazy, but it isn't! We've all watched enough interviews to know he is irresistible and people can't help themselves... 8-)
