Not sure if Fox was talking to DMG re Katy Perry affecting Adam. The first leaks from ENews on 07/09 said, Fox execs has been talking about Adam for over a month. It means they have been considering Adam for the position since end of May. It's possible Fox wanted both Katy and Adam to sit on the judging panel, and it's easier to talk to one management to get 2 judges and two different managements. The Idol producers seem to have been talking to about every living or breathing singer on the planet at one point or another. And they started this months ago. I wish someone would just tell us the real scoop. And the E! New report was a "source" but most of what else was in that first report has turned out to be true -- so I think the "over a month" may be true too. Yep, I don't know ... Call it projecting or whatever, but I think I've kind of developed a bit of a sixth-sense from reading so many of these Idol stories. Maybe it's the details mentioned, or the phrasings from "The Source(s)," but some most ping my BS meter immediately and some ring potentially true. The Shirley THR article from a week ago Friday seemed about 70% possible and the rest red herrings. The NJ thing always seemed like BS to me and it appears it very likely was. The E! article always rang true for me. Maybe it was the added detail about "keep coming back to Adam," which is not phrasing they'd use in a manufactured piece, IMO. And I always thought the fact that many of the behind-the-scenes people know Adam, his attitude and professionalism, would always bode well for him.

Okay, last post made me go back and find piece to read again (ugh! With the DNW DSA pic!!). Virg, it was mentioned, but not linked on the timeline (or did I miss it?) It started the whole thing! www.eonline.com/news/328551/american-idol-shakeup-fox-considering-adam-lambert-as-judge"They have been talking about Adam for over a month," a source exclusively tells E! News. "He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of the judges' comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can't go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him." That's a lot of (true) detail for a random PR-grab story.

I woke up today lazily loving the fact that is was Sunday and realized the big news would be out of the box tomorrow. My DH had to inform me that indeed this is Saturday and I am on Adamtime... Idol best announce early in the day, cause I got my confetti all ready. #glassfull Don't know if this was mentioned, but one benefit of Idol is that is taped in LA, Adam is based business-wise in LA, his home is in LA, his partner, family and friends live in LA mostly. Long way of saying..he would have some semblance of a 'normal' life for the Idol season. That in itself is invaluable. Adam is in love..I would want he and Sauli to have time together on a regular basis for awhile. And whoever said that Keith Urban is a beautiful person (sorry, earlier on in the thread and I didn't write your name down..apologies), I totally agree with! He is a very deep, compassionate man. This would be a four pack judging panel I would watch. And I haven't watched TV in over 2 years. gawd..this is huge...eek.. OT...still windy today, TeddyBear? ;D

Just to be clear: I am squeeing at the prospects of Adam getting the AI gig. Because that makes me giddy with excitement and happiness. Nothing makes me feel more alive than getting my hopes up. Furthermore, my squeeing has absolutely nothing to do with me believing he already got it. Which I totally do. It's pure common sense and reading Adam's carefully placed innuendos 101. I am completely ready to shamelessly suffer the consequences of possibly ( NOT!) being proven wrong, which is to say I don't give a s*it.If he actually gets it, I'm throwing a party, a real one, here at my place, until some of the neighbours call the police, that is. Can you imagine the face of an innocent Serbian police officer faced with me drunkenly slurring: "Sorry,Sir, but Adam Lambert just became a judge on American Idol!" At least the cells are warm this time of the year. I love you so much!! One of my favorite posts ever!! The highlighted part is exactly how I feel. I am 100% sure he has this! But if I read the mashed potatoes wrong, no way am I going to be devastated. My personality just isn't like that. If he by some strange turn of events doesn't have this, then I will just think that FOX and Idol are really, really idiots! And I will move on to bugging you all several times a day to request the new sinlge! (OK, I will be doing that anyway!)

One thing to keep in mind is that whether Adam has the judging job or not (and I believe he does) - HE already knows.
Whatever happens over the next few days/weeks is not a surprise to him. He won't be disappointed, and neither should we.
OK, maybe just for a selfish second cause I won't get to see him on my TV twice a week....
AND HE HAS BEEN SO DAMN HAPPY LATELY. So whatever comes next is going to be amazing!!

ETA: Idol knew Steven wasn't coming back early (don't think they wanted him) so they very well could have been talking "about" (not to) Adam for over a month.

Ok I've got a question, but its not solidly formed so bear with me here. IF Adam was hired, would/could part of the compensation be non-monetary? Such as agreements to use Adam's music in shows, etc? If they form these types of agreements what are the types of perks he could expect? Yes, the final Idol contract contains all kinds of terms -- including promotional guarantees. I have 2 questions: If Adam's got the AI gig, is it possible for him to appear in other TV shows (such as Jay or Ellen) and perform his single(s)? If he is going to tour after AI, is it possible for him to make an announcement on AI about the Trespassing tour, of course not as many times as the AI tour, but once or twice?
