Seriously, for the first time in my life I am a fan of an artist whose fandom must step back and avoiding certain events because they not "fit in" and they will ridicule this artist in someones eyes. IMHO this is insane. If you are young and gay, by all means go! It just clearly isn't an event geared to straight women over 40. Bullsfan, WTF??? You wouldn't deprive a crotchety OLD woman a chance to work on her bucket list???? I wonder, do they let gay men over 40 into raves? The Circuit would not be appropriate for me because of my personality. But I'm on a ageism rant because I truly resent being categorized EVER because of my age. I can rock with the best of em. Damnit. PLEASE know this is not personal, Bullsfan. Age is an attitude. I've had my age stuck down my throat ever since I joined this fandom. Sorry, had to let that out. Breathe..

People that want to go to the Saturday event should do it.
I'm not comfortable telling people that they won't fit in.
I'm sure some people have the best intentions, but some people telling other people what to do are coming across like bullies.

So this all talking about freedom and being yourself is BS? I can be myself on Adam's concert but not on some LGBT party because I will embarrass him?

Oh boy, I just don't think it's an event planned with straight women in mind. Isn't it a gay rave party?? Sorry I commented. Maybe Adam will get to look out into the crowd and see some familiar faces again.

Well my twitter feed has been highly entertaining this afternoon! ;D I think we're all in agreement (at least the SANE ones of us) that this is an event that we should NOT attend unless we're young & male & gay. It's a friggin' gay rave party folks! Gonna be loads of fun for the boys! Unfortunately there are a few female fans who already have tickets & will be there trying desperately to fit into the crowd & probably standing out like giraffes in a chicken farm. (I'm sure Seoulmate can come up with an appropriate gif for that image.) And we gotta remember - Adam is a PERFORMER at this gig, so he won't be out in the crowd half-nekkid trying to hook up with anyone. The half-nekkid part would be nice but I think we all know better. This will be a fun show for him & he'll get to hang out with his club crowd. And maybe his album will climb up the dance club charts & get even more attention. Win Win! Mashed Potatoes all round! [/IMG]
I agree, but you know what? If someone's got the balls to go (no pun intended) then more power to them! I don't think I have any right to tell a fan what to go to or not. I'll bet there will be plenty of straight females there. As a matter of fact, you can bet the fruit flies will be aplenty!
Have to say I agree with your comment. I hope I haven't offended anyone who is going, because there will definitely be alot of great dance music. And hey, Adam has always said it bothers him when people say they're afraid they "can't pull that off". If you believe in yourself, just grow some balls & go party! (maybe I'm a little jealous that I'm not male & gay & young....) ???

Have we gotten so entitled as fans that we have to be at every event Adam is at? Adam, and most other gay people go to gay bars, and events like this, to be with other gay people. They're not shunning the straight community, they're just mingling with those they have things in common with. Otherwise there would be no need for gay clubs. Men go to strip clubs where women are not allowed entrance without a male escort. There are male strip clubs where women can go without men being allowed in. None of it is "discrimination." Adam has to expand his fanbase. That's all there is to it. There are just some appearances that yes, the organizers are going to want to limit the attendance to their targeted demographic. Young and gay is the targeted demographic for this event. One of these days, Adam is going to say something and it's going to piss off some people. I don't believe in ageism and discrimination. But I do believe that a lot of fans are very entitled when it comes to Adam and they put their own wants and needs over Adam. And to me that is damned selfish. If one truly wants to experience a "rave" or an event they normally wouldn't go to, by all means, go...knock yourself out. But I suspect that you probably wouldn't be caught dead there....unless Adam was involved.

Queenþ@QueenRockBand Queen - Brian May: 'I'll Always Regret Not Performing Songs With Freddie'' ► www.contactmusic.com/news/brian-may-ill-always-regret-not-performing-songs-with-freddie_1404575Brian May: 'I'll Always Regret Not Performing Songs With Freddie'May admits he would have loved to have performed the two hits with Mercury before he died. The rocker says, "He (Mercury) was finding it harder to actually find the energy to do things like this (make videos)... A lot of the time in this period he was pretty sick, so it's an amazing effort of will that he managed to do this at all. "We were never able to perform I Want It All live; it would have become something which was a staple core of the Queen show - it's very participative... It's very anthemic."
