Circuit parties, even most gay bars, are youth-oriented. No gay man over 35 is going to go to an event like this MATINEE unless he is very well-preserved. Gay men go to the gym for a reason.
LOL...you mean like the reason why women getting boob jobs?!
Seriously though, speaking as someone who has been to a gay rave (way before 2 rugrats coming into my life), I had an absolute blast, and was absolutely wasted, too! ;D I still go to gay club with my gay buddies occasionally, 'cuz the gays are generally better dancers (and I'm a dancer myself) and I don't have to worry about getting hit on. But, would this fruit fly tag along to this Saturday's event if her gay buddies asked? The answer is a definite no! My husband & I are taking our 2 rugrats to our cabin up north for the holiday weekend, I wouldn't cancel it for anything. BUT, would I still go if I had no plans? Nah, just not interested anymore...does this mean I'm getting older and wiser or......????

Brad Paisley is possible the #1 male country star in the US right now. And Brad is bigger than Keith Urban by far. Brad Paisley's Virtual Reality Tour is the #1 country tour -- www.theboot.com/2012/05/04/brad-paisley-virtual-reality-tour-extended/ Brad Paisley VRT Ticket $35-$62 Last album (2011) peaked at #2 Billboard 200/#1 US Country Keith Urban Tickets (doing casinos, amphitheaters and small arenas) $20 (Bangor ME) Last album (2010) peaked at #7 Billboard 200/#2 US Country I respectfully disagree, Q3. Keith Urban is a much bigger star. I know who Brad Paisley is. But so many people were saying, "Who's this Paisley dude?" Nobody was saying that about Urban. I guess I need to clarify. Keith Urban is the biggest "star." Paisley may have bigger in sales in Country tho. Brad is bigger in Country sales, and in total sales and bigger in the US. Keith Urban is bigger in Australia and in the US as an Adult Contemporary artist. >> Anyone who listens to any country music knows Brad Paisley. But if someone ignores Country music, they may not know him. Brad Paisley was the 2008 CMA and ACM Male Vocalist of the Year winner. Starting with the release of his 1999 album Who Needs Pictures, He has charted 25 singles on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, 16 of which have reached No. 1 with a record 10 consecutive singles reaching the top spot on the chart. On November 10, 2010, Paisley won the Entertainer of the Year award at the 44th annual CMA Awards.

Major entertainers do circuit party gigs. I was just googling around, and saw that Mary J. Blige just did the big White Party in Palm Springs this past April, and I'm sure there are others. It just becomes a little dicey when its an actual openly gay male mainstream singer (of which Adam is the only one) doing these kinds of gigs. I do believe though that Adam does need to get his music into the clubs (gray and otherwise), especially with the reception he has gotten on the Radio. That's good to know, because all my searches led to a bunch of DJs and C- listers performing at these events. Maybe they are trying to bring in some better artists to these circuit parties, because I wasn't too thrilled with what I was seeing.

If they do 2 a week plus LA (the big announcement city) they can start on 9.12. IF they unveil the judges week of 9/12 in LA at the LA judging event. then do 9/17 OK + San Antonio, 9/24 NOLA + Charlotte, 10/1 Newark + Chicago. 4 weeks. Done by 10/5. Two a week for four consecutive weeks? I don't think they have ever done that, at least not in the past five years. It was 2 a week for 3 weeks. There are only 7 stops this year.

I hope this is not too "negative", but I have to say that I am a bit bothered by Adam doing this MATINEE show. Yes, I understand that it is another of DMG's attempt to promote Adam to a gay audience. But my concern is that DMG seems to be promoting Adam as a "gay entertainer" and that will not only limit Adam's appeal to the mainstream, but will actually limit Adam's appeal to the gay male audience. Last Thursday, I tuned in to "Derek and Romaine", the evening show on OUT-Q on Sirius. There was a discussion going on about why gay men were not more supportive of gay male performers. Adam's name was a part of the discussion. If someone heard more of the show, perhaps they can fill me in. But one key statement by Derek is relevant here. He said gay men do not accept someone who is just on the cover of The Advocate, they will support someone only after that someone is on the cover of TIME. In other words, if a gay artist can't sell himself to the mainstream, don't look for gay people to support him. I wanted to write to Derek and say that Adam is pretty much accepted as a mainstream performer in most of the world. It is only in America that major success alludes him, and I believe that is because of homophobia. But I am waiting to get filled in on what the total discussion was (as I only heard a few sentences). I am actually not worried about this much. They are trying to theorize their observations. If someone proves it different they will have to adjust their theory. If Adam doesn't perform to the gay community nor appear on Advocate, will the gay community support him more? I don't think so. It is what it is. The main thing is Adam doesn't discriminate, and he doesn't distant himself from the gay community in order to make success in mainstream. He considers his gay community as brothers and sisters, and he loves his mainstream fans. Let him be himself.

Had you been asleep, we may have dissected that for hours. ;D YW satisfied, and lol junkets, I just happened to see it on my twitter feed.

Does anyone know if Sirius has a feature like with satellite TV where you can listen to a prior week's or month's show. I so want to hear that Derek and Romaine show in full. I don't want to write Derek unless I have all the facts.

I agree that Brad is bigger. The stats don't lie. However, since Keith is married to Nicole, maybe he has more people who are non Country fans, that know him!
