Hi Butterfly! Are you from US and teasing me or are you from another country and want to know what the above term means? No, I'm not teasing you! As I said earlier " Me Finnish - not understand" and I would like to know what the term means. ...by the way.... you made me so happy, when you do not immediately have guessed that I am not from US!

Am I the only one who is STILL having hassles with the smilies?? So, is this just my dumb computer??
Not just you, darlin'. I'm also noticing more red x boxes where avis used to be. Not nearly as bad as with the smilies, but still noticeable.

[/IMG]
I'll take a stab at this. Don't mean to answer for Skylar but it says she's offline and I don't want to leave you hanging, Butterfly! Don't know what time it is in Finland! Repeating a word and then adding a sch sound to it is humorous way to dismiss something. Like so many clever and colorful expressions in English, it stems from Yiddish. I'm going to be lazy now and just quote from Wikipedia: "Shm-reduplication is a form of reduplication in which the original word or its first syllable (the base) is repeated with the copy (the reduplicant) beginning with shm- (sometimes schm-), pronounced /ʃm/. The construction is generally used to indicate irony, derision or skepticism with respect to comments about the discussed object: He's just a baby! "Baby-shmaby".[1] He's already 5 years old! What a deal! "Sale, schmale".[2] I'm waiting for a larger discount. The original word can be a noun, but also an adjective: "Whenever we go to a fancy-schmancy restaurant, we feel like James Bond."[3] The reduplicated combination belongs to the same syntactical category as the original" So, in Skylar's case, she is expressing a view that things don't need to be clearly masculine or feminine--particularly with regard to clothing. Kinda like we say "sexy is sexy." Anyway, hope this helps! And your English is great! (And hope it's ok that I horned in on your conversation, Skylar!)

That is a good game junie....albeit the choices would change regularly I am sure...depending on the mood.... * What was the first song you ever bought? I am not sure I bought this as I was too young when it was out but I LOOOOOVVVEEEDD IT...plugged every jukebox with every nickel I could find: Elvis: Jailhouse Rock... * What song always gets you dancing? I want that Old time Rock and Roll; You can leave your hat on; Fever; Shady * What song takes you back to your childhood? You belong to me......was a hit when I was a child and mom played it a lot...and both parents used to break into song regularly with 'kiss me goodnight sergeant major...' or White cliffs of Dover... * What is your perfect love song? hmmmm....Unchained Melody or perhaps Solo Saxophone from Miss Saigon * What song would you want at your funeral? "I am woman....watch me roar...if I had the least hint of the religious in me, I would want "Bring her[him] home...from Les Miz...sung very loud, by Colm Wilkinson * Time for an encore. One last song that makes you, you. This is the hardest of all as it is the one most often changing....probably closest and certainly the one my kids and friends would identify is "I am Woman...hear me roar...'
Great choices and interesting game, mszue! Like with you, the songs I'd pick are subject to change, but:
First song you ever bought - Duke of Earl by Gene Chandler
Songs that get you dancing - Shady, Billie Jean, Dancing Days, Sharp Dressed Man, Proud Mary (Tina Turner version)
Songs that take you back to childhood - Tennessee Waltz and I Left My Heart in San Francisco (parents' favorite songs)
Perfect love songs - Love of My Life, Thank You, Can't Help Falling in Love, Something, Your Love Is Forever
Songs you would want at your funeral - Who Wants to Live Forever, Imagine
Song that makes you, you - I Won't Back Down, TrespassingPlease keep responses in Members Thread.

And yet having contestants that are having their "last chance" is the main criticism The Voice gets. I'll bet XF and The Voice have similar contracts to Idol. Oh, and with Idol any contestant that doesn't get signed by "the" label, ends their contract with Idol around mid August. It just happened to last seasons contestants and 2 tweeted about it! So if RCA had not signed Adam, he would have been free around mid August. seems to me that the whole AI "model" is "I have no experience, I sing in the shower and now I win AI a become a star"....having pros compete makes it a total different show... - that is why I am still surprised that Adam was "let in" as far as the judges and I am even more surprised that he got thru the Hollywood rounds... it was really a miracle...this very miracle makes me believe that the UNIVERSE is on his side and he will succeed beyond our collective imagination.... Absolutely true! That is the Idol model!
