Not just you, darlin'. I'm also noticing more red x boxes where avis used to be. Not nearly as bad as with the smilies, but still noticeable. Pretty sure it's because photobuckt has been going down, off & on, for a few days now. |

And yet having contestants that are having their "last chance" is the main criticism The Voice gets. I'll bet XF and The Voice have similar contracts to Idol. Oh, and with Idol any contestant that doesn't get signed by "the" label, ends their contract with Idol around mid August. It just happened to last seasons contestants and 2 tweeted about it! So if RCA had not signed Adam, he would have been free around mid August. seems to me that the whole AI "model" is "I have no experience, I sing in the shower and now I win AI a become a star"....having pros compete makes it a total different show... - that is why I am still surprised that Adam was "let in" as far as the judges and I am even more surprised that he got thru the Hollywood rounds... it was really a miracle...this very miracle makes me believe that the UNIVERSE is on his side and he will succeed beyond our collective imagination.... But there were tons of people who had experience in the music business, Melinda was a backup singer, Cook, Daughtry, Paul McDonald, etc. had bands that I believed released albums, Kris, Matt, Taylor, Lee, etc. had albums. All of these people were performing and probably getting paid. How does that make them any different from Adam? None of us had ever heard of any of these people including Adam. And I remember reading that if anyone from Season 8 should be disqualified, it would be Alison because she had some contract/deal from winning a Mexican singing contest. |

I am making fun of the words masculine and feminine by creating a word that is not a word but that rhymes with each of them. So "schmasculine" is not a word and "scheminine" is not a word. Little kids do this sometimes when they try to rhyme with a word. They make up words to rhyme. In doing this I am suggesting that I do not take the traditional meaning of and boundaries for masculine and feminine very seriously. I am making fun of the traditional meaning of the words. I am also suggesting that we can create new meanings for masculine and feminine and loosen and play with the boundaries as Adam has often done. |
