People who actually know things rather than just opining as I do, do you think the announcement will most likely be Tues or Wed of the coming week and I can relax and not check this site for news so often until then? They don't know either |

jean, there is nobody here, as far as I know, who "knows things." If you want an opinion, I would say there is a possibility for a Shirley article today, by 3:00 Pacific time. If not, then most likely next Tuesday or Wednesday. |

If Adam doesn't get Idol I don't really think he'll take it too hard. His life has been made up of auditions and rejections -- it's the biz. This will just be a gig he didn't get. I'm sure he's figured out that it's not that he isn't good but because he wasn't the "fit" they needed. Remember when he commented about Idol that he figured out that they hadn't filled the "rocker dude" spot so he leaned in that direction with his audition song choices? OT: I found a Fleetwood Mac CD in the dollar bin yesterday so I picked it up. Interesting notes on the cover -- the group had been together 8 years when this music came out (it's the album with Landslide and Rhiannon). They had never had a Number 1 album until this one was released. It also had 3 #1 singles. EIGHT YEARS folks. There were a number of Fleetwood Mac offerings before this one -- many that I liked ALOT. Some things just take time. Adam has the talent and he has the recognition and he has the industry's respect. He's come a long way and he sounds very happy with the progress so far. I sense that things have never come easily for him but that he sticks with it. He certainly understands the "game" and continues to break barriers. I hope none of us will get discouraged if the AI thing doesn't work out. It will be at that point where fan support can only help him clear the hurdles. j/s BTW -- I'm still texting my NCOE requests daily and I'm still getting replies from all the stations. I also started requesting BTIKM -- I really really like that song. ITA  |

Ever since I joined this blog, I have been very impressed with how posters here seem to know so much about popular music, music in general, vocal technique, how the industry works, artist's bios, etc. I often ask myself, "Wow, how did they know that? Meeting all of you was a THRILL! :D Aww, thanks to everyone for the party, including Didilynn, Sapuro, our door crew, people who volunteered to help decorate at the last minute, those who helped with the sound system, etc. etc. I had fun, too, but didn’t get to talk to enough of you wonderful people. If anyone (besides Mayumi) has photos, would you please send them along? We hope that the 1in10 kids will have a good time, too. Hi there, (blinking a bit with the light :-[) to add my two penn'orth of thanks to supardu's. I was overjoyed that the turnout was even higher than our expected number, but with actually being sick that night (and eating none of our carefully chosen food :-/) I too got to spend too little time with any of you. I must also apologise to Glampoon, who I fully intended to see the next day but was asleep recovering some strength to make the most of the religious experience of that evening, and to 8toInfinity, who I'm sure I didn't thank properly.  to you both. I have been following as much as possible (RL's been a bitch >:(); didn't mean to seem rude to not acknowledge everyone sooner. When I've been underground for a while, it takes a bit of an effort to break the surface again :-/. fwiw; I just want Adam to be happy and whatever it taks to do that, I'm with him :wub: |
