Imo because it improves a song that was awesome but somewhat sonically repetitive and makes it even more adam-my? the new funky ending kicks ass over the original, the pacing is better, the new harmonies and extended panting is crazy in a good way and very in character to me. I also like the first radio edit, but this was an unexpected thrill for me. I like the Dallas edit (the album version is too long) better because it kept the essence of the song but just made it shorter. This one strays too much. I am just afraid and gunshy after NCOE that RCA is fucking around with their "radio friendly" non creative minds again! I like the Dallas one better. I agree with you about this one is a bit stray. and RCA sure wants to fit it in radio sound. Really hope more radio stations will play it than NCOE & BTIKM. |

New at this...my two cents...Adam will get the MENTOR spot and Randy will be a judge. And, so excited that Trespassing was played. Loved that song from the beginning. Can't wait until we can request it. You have it backwards. Randy becomes a new mentor. Adam is the 4th judge. Mentors will not start working until late this year or early next year. |

nica did you read my reeasons for why the Enrique/Randy news is good? It clears up the Enrique rumor. Enrique is out! YAY!!
Next rumor will be that Randy is indeed moving to a role as mentor.
Voila! Adam is the 4th judge.
Adam was not 2nd choice or their last resort! They stopped pursuing Enrique for whatever reasons. They will say he never had a firm offer.
Randy moved onto a new position! Randy saves face!
Adam is their choice for 4th judge! Love your theory. Hope things go like that. But I just feel dizzy with idol news, don't know what to believe in now. I am still afraid tomorrow or the next day, another article may run "Enrique closed deal with AI". I need more sources confirming that he is out. |

It seems to me that for whatever reason Randy is back in the game and Adam is not. Whether thus publication knows anything or being fed anything - we'll never know... What we do know that Adam is not part of the game as far as this publication goes.. anyway...I am happy - breathing the same air and the said air happens to be marvelous - we had one of the most gorgeous days today. From the two pictures we have - BB looks happy and gorgeous as well  And tomorrow we'll have even more fabulocity from the BLONDES' show. |

Randy- I don't think Idol would put three blacks on the judges panel. They neeeeeeeed Adam.  Nicki said she turned down offers before.. so.. the judges going to be Keith - Mariah - Adam .. That's my speculations ;D ;D ;D ;D That's my wish. |

This doesn't seem like an edit that smooths out the edginess of the song to me at all! I think it funks it up, it makes it a little more risque with the added panting and the prominent gritty back-up vocal, and it makes the base more evident. Seems all good to me. Who knows who did it, but it doesn't sound, say, Dr. Luke-y to me at all. I love the album version but definitely think the song needed shortening for radio. The Dallas edit left me feeling a little bit disappointed--I enjoyed it but it felt more chopped than edited. For me, too, this was an unexpected thrill! ETA: several people have mentioned the "gongs" but they were in the old edit, too, weren't they? they were just drowning out the base, rather than backing up the pants? (lol backing up the pants ;D) Hi there  lol back up dem pants! yeah I think the gong was there just less noticeable/distinct, but I'm not sure. |

Randy's race doesn't matter, due to the fact that the longtime AI audience is so comfortable seeing him on the panel. They have become color-blind to Randy and they just see him as "Randy". Disclaimer: These is not how I feel, as I could care less if all four judges were African American or any other race or gender combination. Just speculating on how the producers MIGHT be thinking about the race issue. I think this THR article is probably a case putting a couple of rumors together, along with Randy's non-answers today, and posting the mash up of rumors and speculation for hits. I'm going to wait on something from Shirley Halperin! |

If he is on the judging panel he doesn't know it. He was very evasive with the Idol questions and his body language was very uncomfortable. He was on to talk about diabetes awareness. I question why he would agree to be interviewed now. My guess is he needs to get the promotion while he is still associated with Idol. Would they want to talk to him about diabetes after he was dropped? What would be wrong with Adam being a mentor? I like him in that role. What happened to Jimmy? |
