The magic of this piece belongs entirely to Animated. I requested a few of her favorite Adam portraits to illustrate a story. But when I received these amazing illustrations and titles, a new story just wrote itself.

It is no surprise to anyone that I am an Adam Lambert fan After 3+ years I am done with trying to understand or trying to explain it. I have just surrendered.

Is there some synth backmasking in Adam’s music? Some Pied Pipper of Glam mystic vibrations?

What may be a bigger surprise is that I am an Adam Lambert fan fan. I love Adam’s fans. The wacky ones, the intellectuals, the artists, the collectors and the spiritualists. I truly adore the number crunchers and the fashionistas. And I have a soft spot for the “creative spellers” amongst us.

I am learning to trust my heart. I heard this from Adam – but I learned this from Adam fans.

Yes, there is something in the music. Perhaps as many have theorized for centuries music is the gateway to the Basic Truths of Reality. Or not. It is indeed up to the listener. For now, I will hold the less melodic theory that listening to people and the world around me is the way to truth.

Sometimes I think I say too little. Sometimes I say way too much. [Setting is usually on maximum verbosity which is my normal state.] Adam really did nail it when he wrote:

How many times have I wished that I would have listened to that sage advice? Countless. Think then speak, never think aloud. Repeat, repeat, remember, oooops!

And yet I continue on, and watch others I know do the same. I have a desire to speak when my voice adds nothing. I have a desire to ask questions when I know the answer in my heart. I have a need to talk about what I said yesterday.

My first love was King Arthur, Merlin and the dream of Camelot. Yes, I really am a geek girl.

There are two versions of the Arthur story – one we all know in its various forms – a golden king rises, is corrupted by jealousy and decadence, that results in the bittersweet collapse of Camelot, sweetened by the promise that the shining city on the hill will be restored one day.

The other envisioned by Neil Young started with a shining image but ended with the destruction of the world. Here is the shiny part....

Today, I chose to write my own ending. I want a new story of Camelot – with a glistening start, a bit of struggle [enough to maintain interest], and a happily ever after but NOT Disneyesque ending.*

*I am referring to the foolish Disney mockery of the first part of T.H. White’s fabulous book, The Once and Future King, “Sword and the Stone.”

In my Arthur movie, Adam is cast – as the golden Galahad, the triumphant King Arthur, and in the very dark part of Mordred. He plays all three parts so perfectly.

Fame is the ultimate goal of many pop stars. I think it is not the ultimate goal for Adam but I am a romantic. Perhaps he really is just a fame hoar and I am deceiving myself. But I do not think that is the case.



In the end, I know all of us are united with one dream, one goal….to see Adam Lambert become the artist he was born to be and achieve the fame he so richly deserves.

I am adding a special epilog to this story later in the week – my ideas about how we can convert passion into the happy ending we all want.
