Forgive me if I am reposting, but it looks like the internet dropped my other post. I was listening to the Freddie/Adam mash up, and I was struck by how well their voices matched. Adam's is, of course, much more full, ringing and resonant. Trained vs. untrained. But there is something in the tone of both voices that sounds/feels similar. Does anyone else hear that? It may be one reason why Adam singing with Queen is so satisfying and seems so right. I also noticed how their voices mash when Adam performed Bohemian Rhapsody in London. Toward the end of the song Adam and ~Freddie exchange lines and it felt like the same person sang all the lines. London July 11 ~4:16 London July 12 ~4:20 London July 14 ~4:18

Wow! The promo for the "80s Talk Show" in China! I wish Adam got TV promo like that in the US. OK, we know TP is going for ads next week, and will be released on iTunes shortly. But where is the TV promo? The album release seemed shortchanged in terms of TV appearances to promote it. So I hope there is something in the works besides PPL. Why would he do TV promo be fore the some song is available to purchase? I would expect end of Oct beginning of Nov.

I first noticed it during the concert videos (mostly during BR), and they do have some similar tonalities or "personality" to their voices. I also hear the differences between their voices (and how Freddie sometimes strained his voice so much, sadly) especially because of the trained/untrained dynamic. Completely different level of resonance between them. Interesting though, and I agree that it's one reason why Adam sounds so good singing with Queen. It would have been interesting to hear a real duet between these two--it could have been great (and I bet Freddie would have loved it).

It may be one reason why Adam singing with Queen is so satisfying and seems so right. i do! though i'm an idiot in music, for several times i've got a "Freddie feeling" in Adam's voice when watching his AI performances and was like "how come?"... is the "voice" here a born thing, or could it be that Adam developed the way he sang under "Freddie influence"? curious [/IMG]
I suspect it is a bit of both. Probably something in their physiology that creates a somewhat similar tone in their voices, tho Adam's is much more finely developed thru training than Freddie's. Makes me wonder what Freddie would have sounded like if he had started voice lessons at 10 years old. But Adam has said he liked what Freddie did with his voice, and how he shaped it. Certainly Adam studied Freddie. So he probably picked up some of his styling. Then, on Bo Rap, I think Adam may also consciously be trying to match Freddie's tones in order to create that effect. It feels almost like Freddie is passing the torch to Adam.
