When a show can offer an audience of 300 to 400 million viewers, they don't have to pay performers to come on their show and perform. The exposure is the payment. That's not how China & Chinese roll! Even the not so famous ones get paid on a different scale, of course. The thing is you can not get rich on selling songs & albums in China, period. Appearance fees & concerts are their tickets to the bank. So from your post earlier: "See, in China things are a bit different than in the States. The national networks and local TV pay big money for the mega names to appear on their programs. For example, according to "baidu" (Chinese google) that female judge from the Voice China was reportedly paid somewhere around 300,000 rmb for her appearance at a state network program (I really hope there's some singing involved for that kind money ). But, there're a few national shows that are considered a honor to be asked sort of deal, CCTV Annual Chinese New Year Gala comes to mind, most of performers on there are free even the mega names are reportedly paid minimum (more like a gesture). " Adam could or could not have been paid for his appearance. We don't really know. We do know that the female judge from The Voice was paid about 300,000 mb or 47,000 US dollars for an appearance. $47,000 is a nice chunk of change for an appearance or a song performance! It's also A LONG WAY off from one million dollars! ;D Also, if Jackie Chan pulls in about 160K, I doubt Adam would come close to even that much.

Forgive me if I am reposting, but it looks like the internet dropped my other post. I was listening to the Freddie/Adam mash up, and I was struck by how well their voices matched. Adam's is, of course, much more full, ringing and resonant. Trained vs. untrained. But there is something in the tone of both voices that sounds/feels similar. Does anyone else hear that? It may be one reason why Adam singing with Queen is so satisfying and seems so right. I also noticed how their voices mash when Adam performed Bohemian Rhapsody in London. Toward the end of the song Adam and ~Freddie exchange lines and it felt like the same person sang all the lines. London July 11 ~4:16 One cannot help but believe in some freaky star alignment. Aaand galactic superstar with animal totem of the fox (Brian) + galactic superstar with animal totem of the wolf (Adam). All is meant to be. ; )

The Voice China is not in the same category as that kind of a "honor to be asked" occasion, like those gigantic shows to celebrate the birth of New China and the People's Army, etc. Yes, I highly doubt that Adam would've been paid 1mil USD for his appearance, if he got paid it would likely be somewhere between the female judge's and Jackie Chan's figure.
Still, like you said, it's a million dollars worthy performance & promo!
