Sony Music NZ @sonymusicnz
This time tomorrow, some @adamlambert fans will be meeting him in Auckland! Can we get an Adam related twitter trend going while he's here?

There is absolutely no proof, that I know of, that says co headlining or opening for a bigger act brings in more new fans. It didn't work for Kris or David Cook. Didn't work Orianthi, for that matter. Worked to get Jordin lots of followers on Twitter but sure didn't work for her last album or single. Q3, has said that the most cost effective and revenue earning tours play in mid size venues. 3-5,000. Adam shouldn't have any trouble filling up venues of that size. I am picturing the official tour being in venues very similar to Glam Nation. Oh, and Daughtry has to tour with someone else because he has had trouble selling tickets this time around. I like the guy, even though I don't like his music. It has to be hard to go from 5million albums 6 years ago, to just making Gold (I think he did.) His sales for album #2 (and singles) and album # 3 are just slightly ahead of Adam's. Plus, it's been out for almost a year. ETA: Just read at MJ's that Daughtry is doing a one month co-tour with 3 Doors Down, mid Nov to mid Dec. Looks like the venue sizes run between 4,000 - 7,000 IF Adam can sell out venues that run between 4,000-7,000 all over the country for a few months this summer, then I will agree with you. (I'm not talking about #10 tickets at a fairgrounds either) I have a feeling we will see a much different response across the country this summer, than we did two summers ago, for a solo tour for Adam. However, Adam is going to do venues around 500-1500 all across the US, I'm sure he will sell out or come very close. Everyone has their times that they open for others or co-headline, EVERYONE! Carrie, Kelly, Daughtry, Rihanna, Bruno, Taylor Swift, even Pink! (who had to open for JT in the US even though she had a platinum selling album and radio hits) Radio isn't working. If Adam is the showman and performer that we all think he is, why wouldn't the strategy of getting him in front of music lovers, who have never heard him sing live or watched him perform, be a good idea? Why didn't anything happen for Kris or Cook out of their tour situations? Because they are both as boring as hell! Concert goers didn't care about a boring WGWG in a plaid shirt! Adam is NOT Cook or Kris, that's the difference! ETA: We should compare first albums to first albums off of AI, etc. Adam is experiencing the same drop all of the AI contestants experienced in the past with their second albums. Daughtry sold around 1 million copies of his second album in the US, Adam will probably make it to 200K with his second. Sorry. Don't see how you can compare an album from 2009 to an album in 2012. Daughtry's current album and Adam's current album have been released within a year of each other, same musical climate. More valid comparison, IMO. What are you talking about?! Adam already has sold shows between 3-6000 this year. Wilkes Barre, Winstar, and FS were about the same size (3000, I think) and Costa Mesa was around 6000. Each of those ticket prices were normal concert prices. One fair is doing $20 tickets. Why make it sound like that is the norm when it is only one?

It seems that you and I have had the same discussion awhile back in the numbers thread...lol and I gotta disagree again.
Yes, pretty much everyone has opened for someone bigger but that boat for Adam has long sailed. If this was his first time around the block, then yes but now...NO! On the other hand, co-headline is something that could be beneficial to Adam if done it right with the right act.
If Adam tours solo in the US next year, IMO, the size of venues would not be that different from GNT which were mostly theaters and casinos. No, he doesn't have a hit single on the radio or on the charts but previous GNT goers, Idol fans and casual fans will come to his concert if the tour gets promoted; people will come for the performance (because he IS the showman) and for the "oldies" and for the new flavors (that would be the glamberts).

(from one million to 200K0 We are talking about the difference between the time frame of Adam's first and second album. You are referring to one off concerts. I am referring to 50 or so concerts over the summer months. Adam will not be selling 3000-7000 tickets for 50 shows across the country this time around. Crystal Ball?

I think he will be playing the same size venues he played during Glam Nation: A mixture of theatres, amphitheatres and casinos. Some larger, some smaller probably averaging 3-4 K. And most likely arenas with Queen.

Ohh I know the advatage of opening and co-headline. That's how they re-introduced Daughtry on his first year by opening for Bon Jovi and Nickelback. However, he is still an opening act for Nickelback for European tour, I thought with all the sales he made he can do his own eventhough smaller venue.
Daughtry's albums sales are all pretty much US numbers, he has a limited int'l presence. Take his last album for example, here is Break the Spell int'l chart stats:
and, the album had sold 469,000 copies as of Sep 30 2012 since its release in Nov. 2011. Adam, on the other hand, has sold 269,000 copies worldwide during the past 4 months (disclaimer: this figure is an estimate from "mediatraffic.de"). The difference is half of Adam's sales are int'l whereas, Daughtry's mostly domestic. It's a very good thing for Daughtry to open for Nickelback in Europe.
