And I will be SO HAPPY to not have any phone calls or dumb political ads anymore! The anti gay marriage ads want to make me hurl something at the TV every time they air! For the life of me, I can't imagine this. I cannot imagine seeing an anti-gay marriage ad on a television. I mean, even before our federal government legalized same-sex marriage, I don't ever remember seeing/hearing negative ads about it on TV or radio.

I haven't even looked at this thread. I have been pretty much working as close to full time as possible for Obama here in the battleground of Southeast Florida since September. It is one of my ways of keeping sane these past weeks. I have only peeked in now and again on the main list as Adam is one of the other ways I stay sane. I really needed that performance the other night and had him on my iPad so I could listen to that velvet voice when I woke in the night and needed to calm down. Though I have worked some on campaigns, I have never had this level of involvement and it has been a huge privilege to be part of Obama's team. The people working for him are amazing and they have poured their heart and soul into the very grinding job of a presidential election. I don't know what tomorrow will bring for Florida other than lawsuits but I am going to be into the fray again giving it all I can. Whatever happens, I will be able to look in the mirror and say I did my best for our amazing President Obama. I so long to call him that for the next four years. It is really disheartening as to what happened in FL these past week from the absentee voters get rejected to the Gov. didn't want to extend the early voters time. It's going to be a lot of law suits here

I just want to tell everyone that I am still flying high after seeing Obama and Springsteen here in Madison yesterday! The crowd was 18,000 plus and we were pumped. Between the secret service, the pat downs and snipers on the roof checking in was a slog but worth every minute! I was with my daughter in law and her mother and father. We were wearing Nurses For Obama T-shirts. I'm so glad I voted early as the thought of waiting in another line just doesn't work for me!!!! ;D

By the way, I think Rachel Maddow is a goddess. I love how excited she is about the entire election process--she's my favorite smarty-pants TV host (and one of the few I can stand anymore). She had a really cute segment at the end of her show tonight about the supplies you will need for election night, including pasta (to carbo load for energy and long nights) and lots of water and red bull. Funny. I love her too! Watch her everyday!

It is even more amazing is to see racist ads on TV... We have a superpac running ads in Ohio explaining why black people should not vote for Obama. They are so heinous I will not even post links here. YIPES -- one just came on TV while I was writing this!! ETA: I am crossing my figures for the Maryland Gay Marriage vote. Maine has a shot too.

I don't know if I can handle this whole day, it will be a nailbiter. Romney just wants to be president to have another tick in his resume. Obama really cares what happens to America and its people. I believe Obama's biggest mistake was not getting down and dirty with GOP'rs that were willing to be bipartisan. Let's hope that this time, he gets down and dirty. I guess Christie is dead to the GOP party now. Pretty sadz.
We may have a situation similar to the Gore/Bush race, where it took weeks for the final decision. Let's hope not. I hope Obama walks away with it today where it not so close that it can be contested.
No nails left.
When I voted, I live in astate where Democrats don't even run. I guess they feel why spend the money to get defeated. In those cases I didn't even vote for the Repubs. There were 2 Liberitarian candidates that had a decent position tht I could accept. Living in a red state sucks.

Thank you for sharing. Like you, smokeyvera, I am in a red state in a split household. It does suck. This place has been a sanctuary! Q3 thank you for creating this thread and reporting on the situation in Ohio. Debbie Wasserman Schultz summed it up for me when she said that this election is personal to her. Yes, it is.

Funny. Rachel is my gal too. Love her. She tries to be so honest and investigates all rumors to find out the truth. I could not exist without her program every night. I don't know if I could live in a country where Mitt Romney is the President. I think I said this the second election of George Bush too but I made it. Obama has to win to bring me peace of mind. He deserves four more years. We have to do something about marriage equality and equality period in this country. It makes me sick to think anyone has to hide their love of whomever/whoever. I can't spell today. I am overwrought with anxiety. It is election day. Vote everyone, vote. I know all atopers will. I have such faith in all of you.

Great article! I love this line:
"Thus, Mitt Romney--whom conservatives used to hate, before they were forced to embrace him--has made no mistakes on the campaign trail."
I just have to laugh when I remember the Republican primaries and the desperate attempt to find a Candidate Who Is Not Mitt Romney. Donald HeWhoCannot amed! Yeah! Wait, no, not HeWhoCannot amed. Herman Cain! No--Newt Gingrich! Maybe Rick Santorum? Come on, there must be somebody! Oh, fine, we'll go with Mitt. Yeah, we've loved Mitt all along!
I would like to thank those who are going out and voting despite long lines, cold or hot temperatures, and intimidation by certain groups who are determined to prevent the voter fraud that never really existed ("a solution in search of a problem," as one pundit put it). I had it easy. My mother and I always vote on a mail-in ballot, because she's legally blind and it's easier for us to fill out our ballots at home.
I know it's been hell for many to fulfill the simple and very American act of casting their vote. Thank you for making this effort, because it's vital that those who are most affected by the attempts at voter suppression get out there and put better people in office!

Hello! I'm nervious as hell, guys! I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight until I know the results. By the way, we have important news in Spain too. I know this is OT, but our very own republican party (the Partido Popular or PP) lodged an appeal to our Marriage Equality Law (LGBT marriage is legal in Spain since 7 years ago). Today, the Constitutional Court is voting; and if they reach a conclusion, they could rule in favour or against the appeal as soon as this afternoon. Almost 23000 LGBT marriages could be invalidated if the PP wins the appeal. Hopefully, that won't happen...
