Congrats to the Grammy nominees...I hold to my statement that I was OPTIMISTIC that Adam would receive a Grammy nomination. I use that word specifically because to me energetically it holds a vibe of upbeat possibilites without anchor-like attachments. I would have loved to have seen Adam receive a nomination. Well-deserved. But my life will go on as will Adam's. And as we have seen, Adam has been doing quite well for himself outside of the 'establishment'...ahem.. A good dose of positivity goes a long way any old time...  ETA: ItsAdamsFault I can't spell...  opt-o-mistic...hmmm, looked good.. :4OMG: |

No Adam.. Arjan Writes @arjanwrites #GRAMMYNoms Pop Vocal Album nominees are: Kelly Clarkson, Florence & Machine, fun. Maroon 5, Pink I can live with these nominations. Glad to see Flo Mo, Kelly and P!NK there. And NO BEIBER!! Yay!! Surprised Maroon 5 is there, since they are a group, but "ya" I get that they are Pop. Fun has had a hell of a year. However, I do know that at least 3 of these 5 noms are not better than Trespassing!  Well - radio play and sales numbers HeWhoCannot amed quality - what else is new? And Kelly Clarkson again? What else is new. I think she's a Grammy staple now and regardless of her work, great or not, she will be there. Not judging this album, just sayin'. I know Adam's music is not the only deserving music ignored, but the same-old, same-old make me tired. :-/ ETA-and you can't discount the valuable exposure that appearing on a weekly TV show affords an artist. It all figures in, IMO. |

Pop Vocal Album Category does not exclude groups. The performance category has separate award for Solo and Duo/Group. Incidentally the reason it is Vocal Album is to distinguish it from the Instrumental category not because there is any emphasis on vocal quality. I know that. I thought my phrasing implied that. But there is also a group category. I think the confusion is that there is a split between Pop Solo and Group for tracks (AKA Performance) but not for Pop Album. There are only 4 Pop field awards.... Two for Pop tracks.... Best Pop Solo Performance Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Two for Pop albums.... Best Pop Vocal Album Best Pop Instrumental Album |

Here are the Pop categories Pop Best Pop Solo Performance Best Pop Duo/Group Performance Best Pop Vocal Album Best Pop Instrumental Album The two performance awards are for single tracks not albums, one category for Solo and one for Duo/Group. The album categories are divided between Vocal and Instrumental with no separation of solo or groups. You commented that you were surprised Maroon 5 was there because they are a group. I was simply pointing out that there is not a separate category for groups in regards to albums. Peace |

He needed a hit, even just a moderate hit. But, he is in the early stages of his career. |

Gotye just won a boatload of awards at the Australian Grammy's (aka ARIA awards) so is having a huge year. |
