bobo LOL LOL
Well, rather I hate playing the role of the party pooper, but felt like somebody had to do it...
ETA: But if your MO is to be hopeful, etc. etc. and rather think positive and you're fine whatever happens, then by all means, disregard what I said. This was more information for people who would like to know all sides of the story.

Sorry guys, don't want to be the party pooper, but the way I see it there is a close to zero chance that Adam gets a Grammy nom tonight. I just don't want people to get their hopes up. For those who are following pop closely, you can tell that the field of Best Pop Vocal Album is extremely competitive, and the truth is a Grammy nom is still very much connected to sales when it comes to pop(-ular) music. And Adam's album, while critically acclaimed, did not sell as much as some others. Plus, the only reason why this rumor started in the first place was Arjan's tweet and then Grammy prediction blog post. I wouldn't put too much trust in his predictions, and frankly, at some point I think he is taking advantage of Glamberts' passion, in order to get hits and interest. For instance, in that same twitter conversation, he got asked about Pink's The Truth About Love album and its chances for a Grammy, and he said it's not competing this year. I mean, come on! It's common knowledge that the album IS competing this year (came out just before the deadline) and, moreover, it's a top contender for Best Pop Vocal Album. So him not knowing this (as well as other things, like predict that Carly Rae Jepsen's album - not single - has a chance, etc.) really diminishes his credibility as a source in my eyes. No, actually, arjan's columns have nothing to do with me thinking it deserves and might get a nomination. My reasons are: It was a #1 Billboard album. It IS one of the best Pop albums of 2012. It made history. Gosh, if I as a fan can't hope and expect it to get a Nom, then why would I expect anyone else (like voters) to think it deserves one. :-/ Do I think it is a sure thing? Hell, "No!" Do I think it is possible? "Hell, yes!" Do I live my life by expecting the worst or the best? Definitely THE BEST!! Will I die and go crawl in bed and be depressed if it doesn't? No way!! The Grammy nom or not, does not change the fact that it is one of the best Pop albums of 2012! So, you're gonna spend the whole day thinking "Zero chance." And I'm going to spend the whole thinking, "It just might!" Man, for me there is no contest on which I'd rather be doing! Adam Lambertþ@adamlambert
Thank you to the various music blogs naming Trespassing as one of their favorite albums of the year. The praise means a great deal to me.

mys*&@^#r50 - haha, I just posted a response to bobo at the same time, basically agreeing with you. I know you are one of the positive people that I was referring to, and I think that's great, so go for it! Also, quick clarification: I absolutely think it DESERVES a nomination. I just don't think, based on evidence, that it will get one, unfortunately. But that's just my reading of the situation. You are all, of course, entitled to your opinions and hopes. Plus, personally, I like hearing positive thinking

As the day's discussion gets underway, I thought some people might enjoy this article: The Problem with Black and White Thinking storylineblog.com/2010/03/29/why-we-think-in-black-and-white/This article is short, in plain English (not academic) and has some good ideas. Excerpt: It’s true that humans have a need to categorize their thoughts in order to make sense of the world, and yet few of us would realize our categories are largely utilitarian, based loosely in fact and largely in fantasy. ... when we fall victim to black-and-white thinking, we reduce an endless spectrum of possibilities to the two most extreme positions, saying, in short, that home is either north or south, when home may indeed be southeast or northwest, or in some cases, both, depending on the necessary route.

They did this with the Queenbert shows in London a few times they released more tickets. This ticketing policy sucks, but it makes sure the show will be sold out! Just bought better seating!, I'm happy, excellent seats! ;D ;D Just have to figure out what to do with the old ones. Would love to give them to someone who cannot afford to come to see Adam I must say that I highly disagree with this sales policy, I feel cheated, and would not fight for tickets to any other artist. And the first time also disappointed to our man's back-up team. Big amount of the very best seats not available for those who really wanted them. I have bought so many tickets to many, many concerts and never faced this kind of game. Pop, rock, opera, what ever. I am sure that hundreds of hard core fans now having bad seat, or very expensive seat (withour any bonus) and now casual concert goers will get the reasonable priced best seats????? How can this support anybody's career? Even in Bertland. ETA: Let me be more precise: They left ALL good, normal priced ticket out from first sale. Only one section with VIP prices was available. Hope this doesn't happen in other locations.
