Adam's reference to new material and working on a new album reminds me of last cycle. In July and August 2010 he started talking about a new album planned for Spring 2011. At the time, the Europe and Asia Pacific GNT were in the formation stage and he said he was going to go to Europe in November-December and would work on the album there. As I recall, creative fan rumors had him meeting up with Bowie in London and working with Max Martin when he was in Sweden. Neither happened. I take all Adam time references with a hunk of salt. But I am certain RCA wants an album out sooner than later. They also probably want it to be more mainstream in terms of themes and direction. >> I would love them to record Adam singing on a stage and not in a studio. Perhaps they could that X plus that is just not in the studio recordings. (As long as they record the vocal without audience noise.) Regarding new direction -- he said the day after Idol that each album was going to be different. He said it many times since then. I can't imagine that he will not do any concerts in the US this summer. You have said this several times and for a long time I agreed, finding the too polished sound of the album somehow*... I've changed my mind, due to two incidents: 1. having concerts downloads available, audience noise and all ( I love it - listening to Capetowners raving on my way to work is surreal, SA in the middle of rural Serbia) and 2. a few Atopers, like Nationalglampoon, pointing out that some songs sound better on the album, like Shady, and me finally catching up with his point. Since that revelation, I like being able to enjoy the production perfection of the album ( which I for a long while referred to *as having sex with a condom - not my cuppa), especially when Adam explained the process of layering of the sound... TP songs are RICH in that way, and also being able to enjoy all the rawness and unfilteredness, the energy and power of the concerts. It's nice to have that option, to be able to choose. I love it how different they are and feel... But I do think TP catches all his factors ( it did take me a while to get there, the man takes a process, ha). So, different playlists, and I'm good to go! ( I'm more often opting for the perfection of the album, I have to say)

If we are talking favourites again, nobody has ever given me an adequate reason for Shady not being released. With a proper push and some high profile performances that INCLUDED Niles and Sam, I seriously don't see how it would not be/have been a huge hit!
If George Michael could have a hit with "I want your sex" and Donna Summer with "Love to love you" years ago, then I see no reason for hiding Shady. Why also do we somehow assume our collective favorites are flawed....Shady won our 'in house' favorite list by a large margin...yet we just dismiss it in some way with the assumption that fans like something different from the main....
I realize perhaps that is a mute point now....but I really really hope this trend does not continue. Fever and Soaked [production for S aside] were my firm favorites on fye and they were dismissed as tracks only FANS liked....do not understand.
Am I just out of the loop on this??? saaaadddd if so...

Can not use Christina as a comparison for a reality show judgship helping an artist. Christina is sooooo unlikeable. The Voice probably has actually hurt her! It pretty much confirmed all the rumors that she is a bitch, and not even an interesting bitch like Minaj! But if we eliminate the unlikeable judges on major talent shows, the only judge left is Paula Maybe Jason Mraz will be likable. No way!! Christina has gone far beyond the unlikablity factor of most. And not just as a judge, but as a person and big Beyotch!!

I am going to weigh in on a subject that I have never addressed and I probably should keep my mouth shut now but when has that ever stopped me. It has been a year since BTIKM was released and I think whoever chose that song to introduce Trespassing totally misconstrued why WWFM was a success. Think about it, how many times have you heard the words "What do you want from me" in a movie or on television or from someone close to you. I bet half the people who remember the song have no idea what the remaining lyrics are or what they are about. The question applies to everyone and its universality was its biggest selling point. Don't get me wrong, Adam brought more to that song than anyone else could have and I don't think it would have been anywhere near as big a hit if someone else had sang it. But for some reason, all the powers that be picked up on was that it was emo and angsty and so Adam must introduce Trespassing with an emo and angsty song. Wrong, wrong, wrong. My expectations for Trespassing were tempered the minute that song came out. I will say, I thought the video was brilliant. Trespassing is a great album and I love it but it needed a better intro with a really catchy, universal appeal. The first single should have been NAKED LOVE. Not my favorite song, I reserve that place in my heart for Shady, but a song that has universal appeal because who hasn't wanted a little naked love every now and then. The gay angle was way too overthought, the public too underestimated. It took about three seconds at the first concert where it was introduced (Kimmel I think) to have everyone in the audience on their feet smiling and singing along. A song like that was needed and then more people would have listened to the album and been impressed with its depth and musicality. Trespassing is an adult album and so many people have no idea what they have missed. I am ready for new music and ready for Adam to make new music. I still want it to be his music but it is time to move on. Breathe a little new air onto the kindling and please Adam pick some color other than yellow. NL is not my fav song either (it's starting to grow on me though). But it is an universal song and would have been a big hit had it been chosen to be the first single. And followed by either TSP or Cuckoo as the second single. I took a look in my crystal ball this morning and yes it did indeed show that in an alternate universe NL was released as the first single was a worldwide smash followed by cuckoo and then tresspassing making Adam the most played artist on radio for 2012... oh wait that's right I don't have a crystal ball

But the product is the song, not the album. I can't tell which album any song is from, except for Adam songs. No matter how famous a song is, or how much I like it, I wouldn't be able to tell you which album it's from. And especially in Tp, each song is so different. The purpose of releasing singles is to promote and sell the albums ultimately. In today's digital world, there're single sellers not necessarily big album sellers, and they can sell just as much if not more. But from the record company's POV, that's what is for. So True! And Adam is making more on the Asian gigs he's already done and the ones coming up to equal millions of sales in singles & albums. The problem is (if it is a problem) that the gigs make the $$$ for Adam and his management but not for the label.

I got the feeling that Adam was proud of the successes that Tsp has had -- of course he wanted more but he has always been able to keep things in perspective. He's got his foot in the door in a major way and he'll keep forging ahead. If everyone knew what the formula was to having a hit, everyone would have a hit. He's not losing anyone money, internationally he's very well received and he on TV!

5) "new direction" for this album (we can only guess, but it is obvious to me that he is going more commercial = radio friendly : I agree. As long as the quality of the music doesn't suffer, bring it on. 8-) We're talking about Adam Lambert right? Adam Lambert = Quality

Would this be the right place to reveal that my husbnad is a twin that was raised in a separate household from his identical other half? They would have been perfect for a study!! Mszue, Shady is probably too retro for radio. If Bruno released it, radio would play it tho! : You know no one has mentioned one of the things that really fucked up radio this year and that was the British and teen invasion. Especially when the 2nd single came out. I feel like RCA missed Adam's window of opportunity with the first single and then all the teen crap hit and basically it was over. There is no male doing Pop like Adam now. Beiber is the closest we got and he has that teen audience. All the Pop guys beyond that age are either in a group or R&B leaning. It is what it is. I just think Adam can and should be very, very proud of putting out 2 well received albums, critically. Absolutely nothing to be sorry about.
