NL is not my fav song either (it's starting to grow on me though). But it is an universal song and would have been a big hit had it been chosen to be the first single. And followed by either TSP or Cuckoo as the second single. I took a look in my crystal ball this morning and yes it did indeed show that in an alternate universe NL was released as the first single was a worldwide smash followed by cuckoo and then tresspassing making Adam the most played artist on radio for 2012... oh wait that's right I don't have a crystal ball I like that universe, hopefully it is carbon based.

Wonder if this is from the suits at RCA. When Bionic failed for Xtina, she got her gig with The Voice, and worked on a new album immediately, and she did not tour. Her new album has come out and it is not burning up the charts, but doing decently. I have read in several publications where assessments were made of how singers have fared due to their jusdging gigs. Of course Adam levine, Celo, and Sheldon Blake have faired well, but Xtina has not. I think it has a lot to do with her personality and image. Also they felt JLo did not fare well. So I think Adam has directives from the suits. Maybe so, but in regards to touring, I think they've scheduled some tour but the sales were not good so they have to cancel. I hope Adam and DMG will plan small number of tour in the US, not as many as GNT and I know he still can sell the seats.

I'm firmly in the 'Cuckoo' should have been the first single camp too. I think that original British review got the order of the singles right. I can't remember who wrote it but started with 'Listen up' and said it was the most exciting Pop album since Adele's 21. If Cuckoo had been a hit I think Trespassing would have been accepted as another great dance track.
I think 'Cuckoo' did as well as it possibly could have given it was shown once on a TV series targeted at just teens and not a major network. A song needs to be heard more than once to make an impact on itunes.

Would this be the right place to reveal that my husbnad is a twin that was raised in a separate household from his identical other half? They would have been perfect for a study!!Mszue, Shady is probably too retro for radio. If Bruno released it, radio would play it tho! : You know no one has mentioned one of the things that really fucked up radio this year and that was the British and teen invasion. Especially when the 2nd single came out. I feel like RCA missed Adam's window of opportunity with the first single and then all the teen crap hit and basically it was over. Wow, that is interesting. It is never too late to be part of a study ... he should call somebody. On the other subject, WWFM made it despite Bieber so I think there would have been room for a good single.

Adam has already filled up venues of between 3K-6500K in the US. Adam sells tickets and fills seats. That's what tours are about. Now, can RCA say, we want you back in the studio for your 3rd album instead of toruing? Yes, I think they can. But it would make no sense for them to not want him to be visible and doing other things at the same time that he is recording. I predict that Adam will not be sequestered away for almost ayear while he works on album #3!

Kris Allen just announced a tour (albeit small venues, but a tour nonetheless). If he can do it, why not Adam? Adam's album sold more than his and Adam still has a label.

I wasn't talking about WWFM or the FYE era. I was referring to the Bristish & teen takeover this year! Compare this year's big Jingle Balls to last year'! Worlds apart!! Oh, and did I mention that I think Trespassing will be in the BB Top 150 selling albums of 2012? Maybe higher even! Yup, yes I do! ;D

I don't think Naked Love would have gone anywhere as a single - even the name is too OTT, IMO. Of course, that could be due to the fact that I just don't care for it. ;D I think Cuckoo is the most radio-friendly song on TSP. Trespassing - I love it but not sure it would have gone anywhere either - nor Shady either. I hope his next album will be quality songs - but songs chosen for radio friendliness. As much as we might want to put the blinders on and downplay the importance of radio play to the success of today's pop artists, radio play is still hugely important. Adam needs the vital exposure of radio play this next time around.
