Ya know, when BTIKM first came out it was hard to find a bad comment about it (cue natllampoons raised hand) then when it didnt go so well it seemed everyone knew it wouldn't from the start. Then NCOE. Less loved the song but most thought it was very radio friendly. Now? Well.... I hate it when you guys do this BUT I'm going to join you this time. They should have listened to the British dj's and to us. Most people here called Cuckoo from the start. It was the obvious choice, and the wise theory on relatablity also works on this one IMO, especially with the teen market. Shady is my favorite but it would never had made it. You will actually find a few fans (including me) who were publicly critical of the BTIKM single choice and strategy at the time. But my impression is that most fans believed that it was most important to publicly supportive Adam while the sent private messages complaining about the choice. I know that I waited for almost 2 months before I posted my opinion about the miss. We live in a time where upbeat themed music dominates Pop radio. There are a few exceptions, like Adele, but from Katy Perry to Carley to fun -- we are almost doing summer songs year round. That would point to Naked Love and Cuckoo as the tracks that are more in line with the time. ETA: Christina's cancelled Bionic Tour was going to happen more than 5 years after her last tour. It is hard to come back and sell out arenas if you take a 5 year hiatus and you are not a huge classic act.

I have been to thousands of concerts. Partly because it was once my job, and partly because I love music, and mostly because I am old. And nothing in my experience prepared me for the first time I hear Adam live. And that was in an arena during the Idols Live tour. Not the optimal situation. :2tears: :2tears: :2tears: :2tears: :2tears: :2tears: Everyone says things like that. God, I want to see him live. Please, please, please, I want to see him live.

When BTIKM came out and we loved it (I still do, BTW) we hadn't heard Cuckoo, or Trespassing, or Shady, or Pop That Lock, or Naked Love. We were starved for new music at that point! BTW, IMO, the most radio friendly universally appealing song on the albums is not even on the US version. It is Map! Map would appeal to anyone and everyone. Teens, lovers, friends, parents, even religions. It has that open ended theme like WWFM did!

Can not use Christina as a comparison for a reality show judgship helping an artist. Christina is sooooo unlikeable. The Voice probably has actually hurt her! It pretty much confirmed all the rumors that she is a bitch, and not even an interesting bitch like Minaj! I've purchased every Christina album to date, except Lotus because she's so unlikeable on The Voice. she's petty and nasty and I just don't spend my money are artists like that.

mszue.... 'Shady' is about cruising a bar and it is sung by a gay man...... RCA was terrified by Trespassing (the song), there is no way in hell they would have released 'Shady' unfortunately. Which brings me to my original reason for posting. IMO, RCA has to dial down the fear and grow a pair when it comes to this next record. They need to release the best songs NOT the safest songs. YES!! An artist with balls needs a label with balls, otherwise it doesn't work, and unfortunately we have the proof. So what should RCA do - release what we might call the "best" songs that are not radio friendly? What good would it do to sit there with a pile of big balls and no radio play and songs that go nowhere?

iridium, her concert tickets were not selling. They probably booked venues too large considering how long she had been gone.

I hope you do too because it is so true. It is stunning and shocking the first time you hear his voice live. But beware it is addictive. That has to be the reason I have flown all over the US and to 5 countries to see Adam. <picture a wacky Seuolmate GIFs here!!>
