So my son finally gave me the AOL autographed sessions set list as part of my Christmas present. It is kind of interesting as it also contains the breakdown of each song. Here is an example. From Adam's Instagram: realadamlambertDiet starts tomorrow. Actually, next year. Today I'm eatin dads pancakes.  I can't even imagine the taste of maple syrup. I so wish I could. And I assume he is warming it up? I stared at the pancake for good 5 minutes, analyzing the shape. I think I could assume what they would taste like. It is a pancake in the pan, right? Here we have crepes and we eat it with nutella. #culinarydifferences Hi Aleks, I bought Nutella for the 1st time about a month ago and ended up eating it straight from the jar, that stuff is soooo good it's dangerous. I'm not buying anymore because I can't control myself with it!! ;D |

Always a "present" wondering where the next discussion on the thread will take us. Imagine discussing pancakes and maple syrup! This is a major traditiion in my part of the world...a carry over of the wild and wooly west days...modernized!
My city, sponsors the Calgary Stampede, the biggest rodeo in the world. It celebrates the old time western competitions of bronco riding, bull riding , chuckwagon racing , steer wrestling etc. A big part of that tradition is the breakfast of pancakes and syrup.
During Stampede week, shopping malls spnonsor free panckake breakfasts, and businesses put on breakfasts for employees. It is a party all week long, and not much business goes on during those days.
The city carries that culture to other parts of Canada and the world.
ie...one example....The city has a committee of volunteers that puts on a pancake breakfast in whichever city the Grey Cup football game is being held (like the Super Bowl in the US). They do this on behalf of the football team aptly named the Calgary Stampeders.
So pancakes are a cheap extremely tasty, easy to make ...fill up the tummy meal.
Adam will be suitably ready for his detox....juicing... in the New Year! (as will many of us!!)

OH, Aleks you're precious! Maple syrup is very good, but sweet. Yes, that is a pancake. Usually they're more round in shape, but Eber's looks a little "unique" LOL They're heavier than a crepe....more cake like. The more maple syrup you pour on top, the sweeter they become. Pancakes are popular down here in the South. My favorites are made with buttermilk. A nice breakfast would be a "stack" of buttermilk pancakes (I can't eat more than 2 or 3) a scoop of butter on top, served with maple syrup, with a side of link or patty pork sausage or bacon and a couple of eggs (usually scrambled) You can add your favorites, like blueberries, chocolate chips, etc. to the batter before cooking. Most people eat them plain, with lots of syrup. Yummy! [/quote Where are your grits? :dunno: |
