I'm convinced that TV is where Adam belongs.. Radio would be nice
but Adam on TV is like super dynamite..Maybe we should put our best
efforts in showing our gratitude for programs that have Adam on. I still
think the perfect fit is a show of his own on a popular cable station.. ;D
Universe are you listening.. ;D ;D
I think that Youtube has been helpful to singers who can't get on radio.

So that brings us back to radio ... Imagine if Cuckoo was the single, played on Z100, and PLL was aired at the same time. A couple of more TV appearances, it could have blown up. This is a quote from David Geffen in a Billboard article: On the Music Industry Now Asked his thoughts about the opportunities and challenges of entering the music business as a producer or executive today, he deadpanned: "I'd kill myself." And it's no easier to break in as an artist now, he notes, attributing the difficulties to the absence of Top 40 radio and an outlet like MTV to air music videos on a loop. I still mourn that Adam didn't get the AI judgeship gig.
What better way for an immense audience to come to know him, appreciate him as well-spoken, likeable and good looking. The masses could become comfortable and familiar with him. One-offs are good, but do not compare to regular exposure on a national stage.
International concerts are good too, but his absence from the U.S. doesn't help his career here. I think that Trespassing went so largely unnoticed because his presence is so lacking here at home.
I think his being largely off the radar in the U.S. is one reason radio pretty much ignored him this time around as well. He did make the rounds to radio but then he fell off their radar too.
And I don't think that fans yelling at and chiding/insulting radio stations is any help and probably does more harm than good.

Happy Holidays one and all. I have been traveling over the holidays. The day after Christmas I was driving on a country road in Lititz, Pa. It was snowing like crazy and "Better Than I Know Myself" came on the radio. I was so surprised. My daughter was at the 9:30 club for Adams concert. She had a meet and great and had Adam sign it with my name on it. It was a great Christmas present. She also found a dvd of some of Adam's performances and interviews. She is such a sweetie. Who knew I would be so easy to shop for. lol, That is so sweet!! What an awesome present! |
