I've wondered how Adam would answer if asked, "How big do you want to be - how rich, how famous, how 'mainstream,' how loved and embraced?" I don't recall him ever answering that question exactly - only him talking about wanting "longevity." I wonder how Adam would define the level or measure of (professional) success that exists in his wildest dreams . . . because, really, I think whatever that is, he has as good a chance as not of achieving it. As crazy excellent as Adam's vocal talent is, to me it's his personality that differentiates him from a lot of other singers/stars whose talent I enjoy and admire, but whom I do not overall obsess about (because, other than Adam, I've never obsessed about any celebrity). So, hosting, judging, having his own show(s) like some comedians have done on cable - that would go a long way in satisfying MY consumer desires, probably more so than even hit records would although of course I hope there are PLENTY of those ahead, too . . . I'm looking forward to that new thread! I love you too, Bridget!!!!   I am looking forward for your inputs. He is a man of many talents!!   Hugs and kisses!!!

Maybe .. but I know how I've approached radio, It's been, I would love to hear Adam Lambert's Trespassing. Thank you. You'll try to fit him in. Oh that would be great. Isn't that pretty subtle?? Just sayin. If we don't ask ,we will never get.Maybe there are some fans who are nasty, but we've been warned to not be bsc after the first album.. I'm going to venture to say that I believe most fans are respectful.I respect your opinion, but have to be true to myself.. which is to try to right what I think is wrong. Maybe I don't understand the radio industry in the USA, why can't you confront your radio station for not playing what you want to hear? [/IMG] I'm not saying breaking down their doors and making unachievable demands. "If enough people whisper at the same time the message will be heard 10 miles away". Or doesn't it work like that in the USA? I'm asking because I don't know. I'm from a country where we kept our mouths shut about things (both trivial and serious) for way too long and nobody wanted to talk, especially when the big cheeses demanded silience. The current generation however have mighty big mouths [/IMG] They don't agree, you'll hear them. We call them the "why" generation ;D As for reality shows, I think Adam will be better suited for X-Factor or The Voice. Imagine having him as a mentor, sharing his knowledge. Wow! [/IMG] With AI it's just about judging the performance and that's it. Bit of a waste of good talent. I also don't think he will make stupid remarks like "amazing". On X-factor Demi Levato got under my skin quite a few times, but at least some if her comments could be used to better the performance of the contestant the next time.
Thanks for this great post gemstone and sharing your thought provoking perspective. I wish I could answer your question. Radio stations request input and polls include an opportunity for comments. So I don't see why we can't speak up and give our honest opinions and desires. I don't think Adam would be where he is today if we had not been so vocal. Internet sites want hits and they know they will get them with a mention of Adam. The more hits the more stories the more visibility. Eventually more people will catch on, right? Still seeing Adam on TV, in print and on the web after almost four years and a poorly sold sophomore album is very promising.

We call them the "why" generation ;D ....
There are about 10,000 commercial radio stations in the US. The most popular music is Country music, not "pop" music. Top 40 stations play the currently most popular 30 songs a lot. They are programmed for people to listen to for about 30 minutes. In the US, radio stations play what the Program Directors (PDs) believe their target audience wants to hear. They use a lot of market research and real time audience measurement to track listeners. Then they add in music that the major labels strongly support with promotional consideration. But this music must also fit the target demos. To get played on a hits format radio station in the US, music needs to be popular with listeners between 18 and 29 years old. There are many different radio formats in the US but the most dominant hits format is Contemporary Hits Radio (CHR). Here is a typical playlist -- KIIS FM LA www.kiisfm.com/iplaylist/playlist.html It only contains 174 tracks -- so it is very hard to get a song on these stations. Requests alone will not do it. And there are not enough Adam fans to "make" stations play Adam's songs. ETA: And I agree with restless, Adam gets/got more airplay in the US because fans are so passionate.

Had to post this again and have your support! Q3 approved my idea for a new thread!!! He will do it during the weekend. The idea has been hovering in my mind since I became addicted to Adam last week of October this year. It is about PLOTTING for ADAM!! Now instead of fan arts which many of us can only admire but do not have the talent, but we do have our imagination to plot storylines for Adam in TV. Example, how would you like Adam to appear back in PLL! So let your imagination and fantasies run wild and support my very first thread!!! Don't post the storyline here but wait for my thread!!!! By the way, I do not sing. My voice perhaps can sing half-octave and I would be lucky if I hit the right notes. But I have my imagination for Adam -- sorry, not sexy and wild -- but plots to expose his voice! !! He,he,he ;D ;D ;D But you can still post your imagination... whatever it is, be it as a host or weatherman. Excited! This is my kind of thread! ;D Just read you! I love you, Juniemoon!!! YAY!!! I have supporters!!!

betty Australia also is getting VH1 DIVAS on MTV LIVE HD airing every day starting 2morrow for 6 days -- I'm really looking forward to seeing and hearing it on the Big Screen LOL when I read the description - it is all about the girls with no mention of AFL at all .. I'm confident that it will be our sexy Male Diva that people will remember and talk about after the show .

Perhaps someone who has the channel could record it and make a DVD of it? ??? And ... yes ... I hope a lot of people will remember Adam and talk about him! ;D

Seems to me Adam needs a huge mega tour through the USA. The thing with Adam, if you see him live, you're hooked ... forever! But big tours cost big money and will he get the necessary support? I don't know. I looked through the playlist, Q3, and it makes interesting reading. It yet again confirms that if radio have you on the list, you will be known worldwide. Must say Adam is better than many of them.
