Wednesday - Check in Day
It's like ground hog day in here. Anyway, you know what that means. Tell us how you are doing. I think I'll be sneaking in with the black sheep.

Hah! I always manage to be down on my check in day but although I'm down 1.6lbs from last Wed I'm up slightly the last 2 days from my lowest. I know that weight can fluctuate as much as 6 lbs with no discernible reason but in watching what I'm eating it really does look as if salt is the problem here. So I'm going to resolve to try to keep the salt well under my goal figure.

Hi, everyone,
I got in my 5x of exercise again this week, even though I didn't feel like it. Yay! The tai chi class was interesting. It is very light exercise, but the moves are more challenging than they look. You really have to concentrate. That's what makes it meditative and takes you out of yourself. I'm going to give it another go today. Unfortunately, my new job is turning out to be very stressful :-[ so I could use the class and also the time with the nice people. Not sure what is going to be my course in the long run because I don't know if I can take the stress.
I felt pretty good about my healthy eating endeavor too. This week I made two really successful recipes, broccoli with orange sauce -- really good and different -- and a really yummy swiss chard casserole. Tonight I am trying something different with cabbage. It will also be the maiden voyage of the food processor so wish me luck.
Recipe for the orange sauce (this is for two servings of broccoli): melt a tablespoon of butter/margarine and stir in a tablespoon of flour. Add 1/2 cup of orange juice and a little salt and cook until "saucy" (less than five minutes).
Meanwhile, steam your broccoli in the microwave (about three minutes). Put in bowls and top with the sauce and a dash of paprika. Yum!

Just quickly checking in before I have to head out today. Lost 1-2 lbs. I always have to reset our scale at 0 as it's slightly off and then when I get off the scale it never quite goes back to 0, so never know exactly how I'm doing. I may look at getting an electronic scale, although I'm mostly interested in getting a downward trend overall, and not too hung up on exact amounts week by week. I can see that I am losing weight! It's going to be more of a challenge the coming couple of weeks as I've got several events on this next week and then visiting family the week after. Cool piece of exercise equipment Jablea! And sorry to hear about the stress in your job Juniemoon. Happy Valentine's Day tomorrow everyone!

Late to the party....but so are many others. What's up? Are we all disappointed in slow progress or just me? My "Plateau"...is not budging ...guess I need to really do more...more exercise....more willpower re snacking. On to next week's efforts.

Well I was right. Not my best week. Up 1 for a total of down 2. I have been walking the dogs but need to do more sweating.
I feel for you junie, my recent job change has had me gnashing and wailing to the point of almost emailing "you can take this job and...." Thanks for printing your orange sauce recipe, I'll have to try it.

Thursday - Stand on one leg
Sounds easy but when you do it for a whole minute maybe not so much. Keep your balance, do each leg for a full minute. I had to do it on a jell filled cushion which kept moving for my knee, I can't find anything at home that's quite the same.
